MENTOR TIER

It sold out! I honestly didn't expect so much interest! I am offering 5 more spots at $15, and then I am increasing it to $20.

KICKSTARTER ANNOUNCEMENT

The townsfolk collection won!!! Poll results here:  https://www.patreon.com/posts/38001013

I am surprised and thrilled that it won!! This will build off of my townsfolk collection from April. Click here to see.  Because there is such a huge lack of townsfolk, I am thinking about making this a huge 40 to 50 models. This means I'll price stretch goals lower too to hopefully reach them all.

COMMENT YOUR IDEAS!

This is key to making something awesome that lots of people will enjoy! Because I want a large amount of models, I am probably going to accept the vast majority of suggestions.

Best,

Mia Kay

Monks, drunks and a skunk to make the rhyme and add to the chicken and goats suggestion... maybe some aristocrats with elaborate stylish attire. Mayor, captain of the guard i could go on all day. Congrats on the mentor tier filling up so quickly!

M3DM

Well, if it rhymes then I have to do it lol (Really, great suggestions though) And thank you!!

General folk at different stages of life... children, adolescent, adult, geriatric, then maybe incorporate this into different races.

Kelsey Reyer

Ooh hoping to see a good variety!! Personally I'd love a tiefling butcher (very biased suggestion since I'm playing one) and plenty of different shopkeepers and such. Gotta have farmers. Maybe a cabbage cart guy for the laughs. Don't forget to have children and the elderly for it to really feel natural!

I'm not sure how badly we need animals? you can always get decently well scaled animals at the dollar store and stuff, and there's always so many models for things like dogs and cows and the like, but if you decided to model animals that have a little something extra, like a mastiff kitted out like in the 5e monster manual, or beasts of burden like bulls with harnesses as detailed as your pack mule, I wouldn't say no, especially if they came with a nice cowboy to go along side it. Personally I think animals should be a stretch goal I agree with Funky Spade though, we need people from both ends of the spectrum, if you're running a political game it's nice to have town leaders that aren't just the same 2 old dudes with a staff you've been alternating between towns, and campaigns that involve social aspects tend to focus on both the richest members of society, and/or the poorest/least fortunate members, so evocative minis like an injured veteran, an obvious drunk, or a noble who seems thin and pampered but doesn't go anywhere without his rapier all lend themselves to interesting roleplay

M3DM

Agreed! All ages and different races is really important to make a town look well developed

The concept of a tiefling butcher has the same charm to me as the orc baker. Definitely doing that~ A CABBAGE CART GUY! I've been watching hours and hours of Avatar this week so I appreciate the heck out of that XD hahaha

Actually, while we're on the topic, why is every town leader mini always an old man with a staff, why can't we have like, a middle aged female mayor, or anything that doesn't look like an evil victorian vampire. (Yes, I understand that vampires are based on aristocracy, I just want to be able to put a quality mini on the board for politicians or women that don't make the party immediately roll to attack or seduce)

You always have awesome insight Gehrig <3 Very appreciated. Note that my Kickstarters are a little different. Everything is a stretch goal. Details on that here https://www.patreon.com/posts/next-kickstarter-38001013 But I get your point, animals wouldn't be high priority. Your point about old dudes with a staff cracks me up! So true and really not very interesting. I'll be putting a spin on some of these tropes for sure.

I would love to see some chunky villagers too! :)

Honestly, I think it's Yahoo, on Thingiverse has a bunch of STL's for animals that scale down nicely. I've used quite a few of them. But they are pretty generic, some of them, and a bit bland. So while there isn't a huge NEED for animals, having variations of animals is always nice.

Samantha Applegarth

Herb gatherer / herb merchant (wood elf? Dryad?). Mayor. Captain of the guard + various soldiers and patrols. Scouts. Hermit. Beggars. Orphans / wild youths. Potions and elixirs merchant. Brewery/brewer. Dog catcher. Town crier. Bard / jester / mime / ??

Samantha Applegarth

Ranger / hunter. Pelts peddler. Tinkerer / engineer / gadget maker. Astrologist. Falconer / owlery / ravenry handlers. Scribes.

Townsfolk for a medieval fishing village please. A few fishermen and women and a fishwife or two.

Lou Hambro

Maybe some street performers? Juggler, guy on a unicycle, doing a handstand, belly dancer, etc.

Nigel Guest

Some dead villagers we could use in a scenario, fur/animal skin trader with various furs, stable master, blacksmith

Zaxus Lanterus

Three men in a tub: a butcher a baker and a candlestick maker? Okay, I guess I'll be serious. This is just some brainstorming. Town Crier with a bell? A friar/monk-like clergy member, with the robe and rope belt? The dead collector from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I liked his cap. And he'll have a gong thing. An alchemist holding up and inspecting a potion she's swirling. A flower girl. A boy with a stick that he is pretending is a sword. A portly man with a tankard pointing and laughing at something. A halfling bartender cleaning a flagon. A gnome banker/shopkeep weighing some coins on a scale. Alternatively, looking through one of those magnifiers at a gemstone. A dwarf with a sack over his shoulder. So many uses. A little girl holding a teddy bear by one arm so it kind of drags along the ground. A man leaning on a shovel/hoe and wiping his brow. A lady with a parasol. A porter/dock worker carrying something heavy, like a barrel or crate. A street urchin in ratty clothes running. An old woman in a shawl carrying a basket with bread or something in it. I think that's enough random ideas. I tried to think of characters that might work for a plot hook.
