Hey everyone! It's been another week, which means we're entering our fourth week in the woods with two more to go before we see what lies beyond!

Meanwhile I wanted to set up a poll for the next themed area so everyone can have ample time to vote in the next area -- and to ask for opinions!

On modularity

We've received suggestions that we dedicate a week to creating modular pieces to allow more customizability. So if everyone's keen on it, we'll extend the woods another week, where we'll release as many smaller pieces as we can - things like plains, shrubs, river parts and roads, carts, houses/farms - that you can augment our maps with it.

This is separate from what we're already to do for Dragon Blood supporters - who we'll pack up every landmark we've made thus far as a token at the end of the theme.

If you have a list of things you want, just list it down for us and we'll pen in as many as we can.

On the next theme

And now the exciting part! We've here a list of ideas of our next locations, with a description of what it generally entails:

  • Port Town: A set of docks/wharves, and the accompanying city. The usual suspects will be here: inns, taverns, alleys, and a market square. The main map will be an exterior combination of town and wharves, with extra maps being the interiors.
  • Volcano: The main map will likely be a climb up to the mouth of the volcano, with accompanying maps being underground forges and caves.
  • Ice Mountains: A frozen fortress' exterior and a path up to it as the main course - some interiors, forests, and frozen lakes to accompany it.
  • Deserts: Bone ruins, desert shanty-towns, archaeology sites, and half-buried temples. The main map itself will likely be an unstructured area ringed with bones and ruins.
  • Dungeons: The most classics of classics - an underground dungeon in the spirit of Mapforge's dungeons/Caed Nua

As usual, you can vote for more than one, and we welcome any suggestions you have. This time since we're starting the poll ahead of time, as soon as a clear winner emerges we'll poll again for what you most want to see in the area so we can get it in from week one. I'm personally frustrated that we can't seem to line up enough time for everything that is still missing in the Woods area as well - so hopefully we can get more ground covered this time around.

And finally, we'd like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts - we've broken our first goal and I don't think they've made words that can capture how grateful we are to you all. Thanks so much again, and we'll do you proud in the times ahead!

As promised, we've already begun work on a free Halloween set, and will have a haunted mansion and graves in time for the holiday.

That's all, happy voting - and for a sneak peek of what's available tomorrow and to see what our workflow is like for creating maps, check this wordy link out!
