Hey everyone

The patroncast is back this week, thank you all for all your heartfelt messages and support over the course of last week, it really helped the whole family and myself, I can't overstate how much we all appreciated that!

Still, this week, we'll talk about:

- 01:18 The channel, and potentially reducing the number of videos a little bit, to focus on being more in depth and not missing too many important points, plus a roundup of all current sponsors and the perspectives for the channel

- 13:57 A potential new perk for all Patreon Subscribers and Youtube members: a daily, short news podcast, to get caught up faster than with the news videos and podcast

- 18:44 Peertube: I love the platform, and they were nice enough to let me know about a few things they're working on, plus I might move to self hosting my own instance of it in the future

I hope you'll enjoy listening to this one!

Have a great week :)

I would prefer 2 videos a week with more detail than 3 videos a week lighter on detail. Personally the daily/every other day news podcast isn't for me. I struggle enough as it is to find enough time to keep up with the channels I follow on YT and other podcasts so there's no way I could handle a daily one, I would stick to the news video on YT and the weekly patreoncast. With that in mind, if you do decide to do it, I would prefer it to have it's own RSS feed otherwise my RSS feed would be a nightmare ;-)

Hey Nick! The new video pacing sounds good honestly, if it means more detailed videos or more time for Peertube I'm all for it. Same thing for the daily news, it would be a nice combo with Techlinked for my commute haha Speaking about Thunderbird, I recently moved back to it (from Evolution) and I love their UI/UX redesign, but it broke the "Manually sort folders" extension. The decade-old bug report to support this natively is still open, so I was wondering if you noticed it, and if you had some tricks to sort your emails on Thunderbird. Do you use tags?

I'll see if Patreon lets you have multiple RSS feeds or not! No issues if the daily show is too much, even if it would be a relatively short podcast (10 minutes max), the weekly one isn't going away!

Yeah, it would be pretty cool, I think! Personally, I don't sort emails into tags or folders yet, I just use search to find what I need, and I only keep 2 subfolders for my inbox, one for emails "to read", which aren't actionable but are interesting to parse, and one for "action", with emails that require me to answer or do something. Once they're acted upon or read, they go into an Archive folder, where I can search through them :) I'll add tags into the mix soon though, the thing that prevented me from doing so was that I wanted to created automated rules for them, and since I used 2 computers and I couldn't sync these rules automatically yet, I thought it wasn't worth the effort. Now that I only have one device, it makes sense to add that in!
