Hey everyone,

I've made the decision to stop publishing to Odysee. The reasons are detailed in the blog post linked to this Patreon post.

I know some of you won't be happy with this, and I would totally understand if you decided to stop supporting the channel as a result.

If you used Odysee, and you want to keep watching outside of YouTube, I'd encourage you to use PeerTube, where all my videos are published in the same timeframe as they were on Odysee, and which also lets you just subscribe as an RSS feed, or using any ActivityPub enabled service, like Mastodon.

If you're unfamiliar with PeerTube, I left a quick recap on how to watch my stuff there in the linked post. The Odysee channel will be deleted before the end of the week as a result

Thank you all for supporting the channel, and I hope you'll understand the decision.

I'm leaving Odysee

Personal I've been syncing my YouTube channel to LBRY, then to Odysee for a while now, something like 4 years. It's a platform I found interesting at the time, mostly because it offered an alternative to YouTube, a platform I've never been 100% comfortable with, even though it's my main job nowadays, and also because it promised another way to make content creation viable as a day job, without relying on ads.

I primarily use lbry for quite a while now because I do indeed hate google/yt and found it a little confusing that no channel search in any peertube site was able to find all the channels I was interested in. But on the other side, I do also find the concept of peertube much much nicer. So thanks to this announcement, I created an account on tilvids (very nice that that is possible) and found out how to subscribe to channels of other instances. Now, peertube is very usable for me and if only brodie had a channel there, I would be totally happy with it and also ditch lbry

Just started watching your videos over at tilvids. This is very nice. It looks like there a lot of other Linux creators over there too like Veronica and Linux User Space. Peertube seems like a very nice solution.

That's awesome! I'm sure Brodie would be amenable to publish on Peertube, he's always pretty cool about this kind of tech!

Yeah, it sort of became the Linux / tech instance! There's also Techlore there, for everything related to privacy!
