Fedora is really good, yeah. I enjoy it on my desktop, and it would be a good fit on the laptop as well. Maybe I'll give Nobara a go, to make sure the GPU is put to good use for gaming! Yeah, that's the main issue with alternatives to youtube: not everyone is there, and honestly, if they were, and people all moved, creators would just close up shop, because these platforms don't offer the same monetization opportunities :/

Usually I'd recommend Zorin OS but for some reason it's still stuck on GNOME. If you'd be ok with upgrading and patching the errors manually it still works, but to be honest that sounds like a pain in the ass. And for YouTube, it really comes down to the creators for me. I watch YouTube with an ad-blocker or through NewPipe, since the YouTube platform feels pretty unusable OOTB for me. Too many ads, too little ethics for me to want to use it as-is. I've been considering Nebula since some of my creators are there, but not all of them. I think a lot of people agree here, and are willing to swap once a platform grows big enough for a certain community of creators move there.
