Hey everyone!

Here is your new episode of the Weekly Patroncast that I really need to find another name for, this time with timecodes to find the various topics more easily :D

This time, I talk about:

- 01:14 How fragmentation is a strength for open source software and Linux, and how an interview of Linus Torvalds prompted this reflexion

https://www.tag1consulting.com/blog/interview-linus-torvalds-linux-and-git

- 07:53 How Google's new tracking method is being blocked, or denied by most other web actors, and what it means for the web as it is right now

-  16:22 Looking for a solution to try and create the ultimate Linux set top box, which would handle game streaming, PS2 emulation, movie streaming, plex, etc...

I hope you guys enjoy the patroncast, and I'll see you in the next one!

Nick

Yeah, I’m not sure most people are looking to do that and are moving to another browser because of that, but I also am glad that Chrome doesn’t have an even bigger market share 😅

Agreed. Their FLOC is doomed when it comes to people who are not locked-in Google ecosystem as Microsoft provides the exact same thing on edge, minus the FLOC. Same services, same convenience of use, same performance (Chromium). But even if Edge doesn't implement FLOC, I'm pretty sure Microsoft as a good data collecting tool of its own 😁
