This one won a poll a long time ago! :) I do see how some people think this is not a fitting movie for Halloween, but for me it gave me chills enough :D. Urgh, scarabs!

I was wondering if you have movie recommendations about Egyptian history? And also, would you like me to watch 'The Whale' the movie with Brendan Fraser?

If there are other Halloween movies that you want me to cover, let me know!

I feel like this worked for Halloween - mummies, zombie-like things, scary bugs! Those elements are in other scary movies aha. Fun reaction Mary!

One thing you don't seem to track much that *might* help you in terms of how scary or gross a movie is going to be is the United States ratings system. This movie is a PG-13, which generally means you will see less *explicit* graphic violence. So, like here, you see the guy with no eyes, but there is also no blood, and the guys who get sucked dry turn into fairly cartoonish corpses rather than realistic ones, and so on and so forth. Of course, there are some really good and intense PG-13 horror movies, not to mention this still grossed you out a bit, but that does provide some notion of how intense a movie might be; PG-13 movies are designed to be appropriate for 13-year-olds, which is what the 13 is for. G would be a kids' movie with no extreme content whatsoever, PG is generally also a family-friendly movie with a little freedom for more intense content (a kids' movie with jokes for adults, for example, would probably get a PG), and R is an adult rating, and they can show full bloody violence and whatnot. The only caveat to this is that the PG-13 rating didn't exist before 1984. Steven Spielberg suggested a rating between PG and R after there were reports that children found Gremlins and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom pretty intense. So you will see some PG movies before 1984 that have more PG-13 content, like the sexual humor in a movie like Ghostbusters. There was one actor you didn't recognize in this movie, but who you have seen before. Rachel Weisz played Evelyn, the female lead. She also played Black Widow's mother in Black Widow, and she was the female lead again in The Brothers Bloom with Mark Ruffalo and Adrien Brody. If you continue with the Bourne series, you will also catch her in The Bourne Legacy.

How ironic you're petting your cat while cats are mentioned in the movie lol. It's great to watch this movie again. I have no idea how long it has been since the last time I saw this movie. This was a very popular movie when it came out. Critics shit on it, but who gives a fuck what critics say? My uncle always said if the critics don't like it, go watch it. The CGI didn't age well at all, but we're willing to ignore that because we enjoy the movie so much. Makes me want to rewatch the original Mummy movie with Boris Karloff.
