Hi everyone!

Most of you know that we move house soon, we expect to get the keys at the end of september/beginning of october, so I want to prepare some scary reactions for October so there won't be a 'move hiatus' on here/youtube :).

A while ago I asked on YouTube for scary recommendations and the ones got the most likes I put in here! The only exception is 'The Sixth Sense' because that got SO MANY likes that I will do it regardless :D. It didn't seem fair to put it into a poll because I'd assume it was going to win anyway.

I might react to more than one if votes are close, or make another poll too :).

So here wo go, spook away!

You left out the greatest horror movie of all time.

Zach Strand

You should check out Gremlins 2

Brian Jones

Terminator really isn't a horror movie Mary. I'd say more action/sci-fi than anything else. What we do In the Shadows is a comedy but I highly recommend it. Cabin in the Woods and The Witch are a must.

Blake Robert

Terminator is a great movie but not a Halloween movie. Plus eveyone has reacted to it already. Cabin in the woods would be a good one.

Bryan Tuck

Seconded. Especially since it's more of a comedy than the first one. But a bonkers comedy; Mary won't know what hit her. :)

I can see why Terminator would come up on a Google search as a "horror", in the broadest terms, getting chased by ANYTHING is scary, and there are scenes in it where it's basically a monster movie. That said I kind of think maybe there could possibly be, and I don't mean to be an annoying patron, but maybe like a second poll?? I will say a lot of these choices are really must-see horror movies. Poltergeist is a Halloween classic, has aged well I think, some of the FX aside. Tremors is just a fun watch honestly, technically horror I guess. Movies like Rosemary's Baby and The VVitch are horror movies for horror fans though, my opinion anyway. Cabin in the Woods I love but it's like with Ready Player One, I recommend watching a few other movies for later reference first, but if not whatever, it's still a good time. The Lost Boys is just a personal favorite.

Jack the Narrator

While one can find horror elements within THE TERMINATOR, it shouldn't be considered a horror movie. LABYRINTH is definitely NOT a horror movie. It's a fantasy musical. Also agree that while CABIN IN THE WOODS is fantastic, it's one of those movies like TROPIC THUNDER, DEADPOOL and READY PLAYER ONE that benefit from having some more movies under your belt in order to get maximum enjoyment out of. I voted for TREMORS. One of my all-time favorites. POLTERGEIST and SCREAM are very close runner-ups that I think you'll really enjoy, Mary. Like TREMORS, they have a lot of memorable characters and witty humor throughout while offering some legitimate (but not nightmare-inducing) chills. Should also note that HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE is a 10-part Netflix miniseries and not a movie. But I also highly recommend it.

Sample-Text

It's also a 1999 movie "The Haunting" (1999 film) adaptation of The Haunting of Hill House.

Labyrinth may not be a horror movie, but it's definitely inspired a lot of Halloween costumes. :)

Terminator should not be on any scary movie list. It’s more of a action/sci fi . It’s worth watching. Just not as a scary movie theme .

Dan

I'm determined to get reactors to watch Arachnophobia this year :)

Labyrinth is the one that made me do a double take "How the fuck did THIS get on the poll?!" is what I actually said. Out loud. Sitting in the library.

KevG

To Marijke, Terminator is a scary movie.

Richard Maurer

Sad that the best film on this list, Re-Animator, isn't getting more votes.

What we do in the shadows.... oh my GAWD!!! Even if you don't do this for Halloween just do it for the heck of it... You will NOT regret it!!!

Odd Thomas

I'd like to recommend The Conjuring for Halloween! Anything by James Wan is good.
