Early Bird - Maintenance (Patreon)

Of course it had to happen that the last airplane picture would draw in more airplane pictures. That's why, kids, you only ever take on pictures that you think you would enjoy drawing more of in the future.
Thankfully airplanes are pretty fun. I don't exactly want to become "that airplane artist" or anything like that, but having a commission come in every few months is a nice change of pace.

Anyway, took a long time to get this finished and not entirely happy with it. I mean i am happy with it in the context of my current abilities and the pictures that i've drawn recently. What i'm not happy with is that it's a painting where it once again felt like there was that -almost- breakthrough. Where i knew there was something more to pull out of it but just couldn't quite pull the right strings. kind of a feeling not unlike having a  word on the tip of your tongue. It feels so close but it just doesn't stir to the surface.

But even with that frustration there are plenty of positives to draw from it. Some more training to use 3D for pictures, some more training with machinery and everything. So even if it wasn't that breakthrough it still was a solid step with plenty of positives.
