I put on the robe after taking my shower and doing my hair so I could do a picture for all my platforms. This is it for the “good morning” post.

When I woke up, Geoni was all ready to go. She was sitting at the little desk in our suite—we finally got the room we had reserved—editing something for an engineering journal about the performance of—this is what I think she told me—variant blends of hydraulic fluids at different temperatures.

I thought it was interesting to see what “research” she had been doing on her iPhone.

Sasha was up, sitting on the sofa having coffee. She was, by the way, not thinking about variant blends of hydraulic fluids in any way whatsoever!

Perhaps, once the coffee kicks in, maybe!

The plan for today is that we are going to visit Al-Azhar Park, a public park located in qism al-Darb al-Ahmar. Among several honors, this park is listed as one of the world's sixty great public spaces by the Project for Public Spaces.

Well, as for now, I need to do that makeup thing. I guess a lot of girls and women live in the tension between what is expected with regard to looks and what is genuine and real. Makeup goes back to ancient times—in fact to ancient Egypt around 6000 years ago during the 1st Dynasty (c. 3000 BC).

So the tension favors makeup with 6000 years of history, I suppose.

And… There I went—chasing some crazy thought. Anyway…

Al-Azhar Park

When I got out of the bathroom—you’ll never guess this!—Geoni informed me that Josh Ryan would be joining us for the day’s adventures.

So, off to Al-Azhar Park—Josh, Sasha, Geoni, and me—we headed. And the day was perfect.

This place is truly a green oasis in the heart of the city. We strolled through beautifully landscaped gardens, with stunning views of the Cairo skyline and the Citadel.

I was fascinated by the history behind the park, especially how it was transformed from a landfill into this gorgeous haven. Sasha couldn't stop taking photos of the vibrant flowers and intricate water features. Josh and Geoni loved wandering through the pathways, discovering hidden spots perfect for a quiet moment.

We even enjoyed a delicious meal at one of the park's cafes, overlooking the serene lakes. The park offers such a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle, with plenty of spots to relax and enjoy the scenery.

We have a lot more to see, though, so I’ll end with some advice you didn’t ask for!

If you're ever in Cairo, Al-Azhar Park is a must-visit for a blend of nature, history, and breathtaking views.

Another Goodnight

Today was amazing. The park was incredible, and the company was terrific.

Having Sasha join me when I left New York completely changed my experiences as a content creator. I went from being alone to having a friend to share things with.

Geoni joining us proved to more than double the fun. Well, it looks like Josh will be more than just traveling with us and working alongside me writing articles and stories. He’s going to be a friend to us all. And who knows what else…

Tomorrow, on Sunday, we will travel south to Assuit Egypt to visit the Saad Zaghloul Art Museum. I just wanted to see more of the country, and there is an airport there we can use to get to our next destination.

So, we’ll pack up in the morning and rent a car—of some sort—and head south.
