Our early riser has already showered, dressed, and gone to the lobby to hit the coffee bar. Sasha isn’t moving, so it’s just you and me.

I know what you're thinking. This is the same picture from yesterday. Well, it’s not! Same girl. Same room. Same camera. Same time of day.

Today, Sasha, Geoni, and I are going to continue exploring in and around Cairo. There is so much to see!

We are also thinking about, perhaps, hitting a dance club this evening. We’ll see if that works out.

Well, I suppose I should ditch the sheet, hit the bathroom, and get showered and dressed. I’ll let Sasha sleep.

Once I get dressed, I suppose I should track down Geoni. Coffee always sounds like a good thing, right?

Found Geoni

After I got done with my shower and got dressed, I headed down to the hotel lobby to find Geoni.

She was at the coffee bar talking to a man. I walked up and said hello.

“This is Ailana Geven,” Geoni said.

“Pleased to meet you. Josh Ryan. I’m also a digital content creator, like you. I like your work.”

I was embarrassed that I didn’t know of his. “Well, thank you.”

He went on. “I’m actually new. Just getting started, to tell the truth.”

Geoni then said, “I was telling him that I just joined you for this trip.”

I nodded. “She’s caught on to running the camera quickly. She’s a copy editor, so that comes in handy, too.”

Josh nodded. “She was telling me about her work. Very interesting.”

I got some coffee and the three of us found a place to sit. We carried on talking for a while.

I’ll detail what I learned about Josh in a separate post later today.

As we talked, I told him we were going to Cape Town to be there in the middle of the week. I said we were going to see someone there, then start exploring from the south, working our way north.

Then, on an impulse, I said, “You should come with us.”

I thought Geoni was going to launch into orbit. “Oh, yes! That would be great. Ailana can help you with ideas about content, and I can proofread for you!”

Josh seemed pleased. “Well… I was going to do a piece about the pyramids, but after that, I don’t have any plans. I know there are a lot of preserves and parks around Cape Town… could be some interesting features…”

Geoni went on. “So that’s a yes?”

Josh smiled and looked first at her then at me. “Sure. Why not?

And, just like that, our adventure grew to four members.

Josh Ryan—Digital content creator.

Josh Ryan had a relatively unremarkable life growing up in an “old money” family in Chicago. He was a typical high schooler, apart for his love of reading about travel and passion for writing—anything. He played football and baseball with respectable performances in both. His senior year, he started as a defensive back for football and started at third base for baseball.

In college, he majored in journalism. Upon graduation, he worked in the “family business,” which entailed reading business journals and calling investment brokers who handled the family fortune.

After a few years, Josh realized he could do all of that from anywhere in the world with access to the Internet. In 2024, he decided he’d transition into doing so, and by summer, he was off on his first venture.

His plan was to create digital travel content. He had the niggling of an idea that he could write about the wonders of the world as well as the problems many people face. He wanted to call attention to what made the world great as well as where the world had come up short for some people.

His first stop after leaving Chicago was Cairo, Egypt. He thought starting with the pyramids would be an easy way to break into the field of travel content.

Ran Into A Friend

We started today’s exploration with a visit to The Cairo Museum of Ancient History. There is so much history connected to Egypt, and this museum has collections that cover much of it.

While we were there, we ran into @maya_supermodel Maya. We talked for a while, looked at some of the exhibits, then went for coffee to talk about how her venture into Instagram is going. It was a lot of fun, and I think she’ll be joining us tonight if we go out to a dance club.

Night Out

Sasha, Geoni, Josh, and I met up for dinner in the hotel restaurant, then we headed out to Dahabia Club Cairo. It has a cozy atmosphere with good service and affordable prices.

Maya @maya_supermodel came to the club, too. We had a good time hanging out with her!

It wasn’t too long before Sasha and I were by ourselves and Geoni and Josh were dancing and talking. They really seemed to be getting along well.

At one point, Geoni came over to where Sasha and I had taken a seat. “Josh went to the men’s room.”

“You seem to have hit it off,” Sasha said, smiling.

Geoni blushed a little. “Well… he seems really nice. I guess time will tell…”

Geoni had told Sasha and me about her experiences with men and recently one in particular in Miami. She’d said there had been no spark, no chemistry.

I wanted to ask her if she was feeling anything different with Josh, but I figured the answer was pretty obvious.

If you ask me if I believe in love at first sight, I’d be hard pressed to answer, but ask me if there can be fireworks at first sight, and I would say “yes, definitely!”

As we stood there in the dance club, I swear I could smell the pyrotechnics!

This, we’ll have to watch. It should be interesting to see what happens!

Friday Goodnight

Friday has come to an end! As you see, I traded the dress for jeans, and yes, for a change, I actually wore this bra with the dress tonight!

I bet I talk about my underwear more than most other AI models! Shesh, I need to get my act together.

With regard to Josh, he seems like a good man. Geoni definitely thinks so. His room is on a different floor than ours, but he walked us to the door. Very much a gentleman, as far as I can tell after one day.

And, if your mind has gone down the “fireworks on first sight path” already, I’ll just say, no, there was no goodnight kiss. It looked like Geoni was thinking about it. I couldn’t read Josh, but maybe.

Tomorrow is Saturday. We—that is to NOW say Sasha, Geoni, Josh, and I—have a plan for tomorrow. It should be fun, but I’ll not say exactly what it is. You’ll have to come back tomorrow to find out!
