Writing Update: December 2023 (Patreon)

This is going to be a short update since I've already done one a few weeks ago and then there'll be a larger update for the end of the year where I'll go into a bunch of thoughts. So this is just a quick review of what has been going on, what I intend to get done by the end of the year (not a lot maybe) and what else is coming.

Though a lot of that i think I'll be leaving for the End of Year Update. Or maybe I'll split that into two - end of year, 2024 plans.

Anyway, onto the update!

The System Apocalypse

Well, both Apocalypse Grit and Fool's Play are out (and the audiobook for Apocalypse Grit is here too at last!)! If you haven't checked them out, please do. We'd love for you to check out the vision of our new authors in both worlds.  We're also putting a new cover on Fool's Play, just 'cause we had the pretty one from the Kickstarter in the middle of this month too. So look out for that change.

We have book 4 slowly developing with Craig, book 2 of the Kismet series (Fool's Bond) is in proofing right now and will be sent out without an issue and we have the last co-author work 2/3 written. We'll reveal more details when the book is finished (at least in draft form!).

No more anthologies planned right now. KT's working on a Library Overdrive project right now, go support her. She'll be back to Australia once the creative well refills for that one.

A Thousand Li

The Sundering Blade is out on Starlit Publishing, so you can buy it now. If not, you can pick it up on January 1, 2024 on Amazon and the other retailers. For those that don't know, this is the prequel work featuring Master Cheng, Wu Ying's Master when he was much younger.

A Thousand Li 11 is currently still being written by me and chapters are up on Patreon. So if you want read ahead of everyone, that's the way to do it. As usual, only first draft so there will be changes and mistakes. I figure I'll be done with the first draft on my end sometime this month, maybe next month middle. We shall have to see.

I'll start writing book 12 right after that for A Thousand Li, though publishing of the series is still scheduled every 6 months. A lot has to do with tying into Travis's busy schedule and giving me breaks.

After that, A Thousand Li is done; though I have plans for the world. ;)

Climbing the Ranks

First book is out wide everywhere you could wish to get it (except Kindle Unlimited). Because, well, we're not allowed to be there without taking it off our own website. I'm actually VERY far ahead of this with book 2 nearly completed. The goal is to actually finish book 2, get to editing it and have it all sorted so that we can work on other projects before returning to finish up book 3 which finishes the first arc of the world.

Release date for book 2 wide is end of next year. Yes, it's a 1 year gap between releases, and no, that won't change.

Hidden Dishes

I'm finally working on the edits for Hidden Dishes 2. There's even a name for the book! I'm about 2/3 done, so we'll get edits sorted in January and book out in May I believe. After that, I'll start poking at book 3 of this series. I have a plan for the world, so there's at least a couple more little novellas here.

Other Projects

Summarising - nothing else moving while I'm in the throes of editing 2 different works and universes and then writing in 2 different worlds.
