I have a new thing I hate the most about writing. Finding a narrator.

*sighs*

My brain / ears are having the hardest time finding a narrator. This time around, I am going with FindAway voices in an attempt to try something new. So unlike ACX where you put your book up, invite people you like and generally see who sends what in, I'm stuck with Findaway finding people for me and then sending me a big list of people to listen to.

None of them sound right. And I don't know why. A few are okay, and I've asked for a book specific narration. Might help.  I've also asked for more...

I want to work with Nic again. But he's busy and won't make it. Eric is okay but is too deep for the voice in my head. Patrick who did Gamer's Wish is okay, but not right either.

I'm contacting Andrea and hope she might be able to get involved. I like her voice and she's a good 'performer'. Otherwise, I can only hope my request for better narrators works out. That... or the people who are marginal doing other books actually fit mine.

The thing that is making me twitch is the damn names. They're all Mandarin, I spent the time finding the right pinyin with intonation indicators. But that means if I hear someone say the name wrong, I'm going to twitch.

I know, I know. It's a me (and probably any other Mandarin speaker) problem. Which is probably a small, small percentage of the listeners. But it's going to bug me. So...

AAAARRRRGHHHH!!!!!
