so this season is incredible, next episode makes a great cameo/call back to a character that made a brief appearance in season 3. I think, as far as writing goes, this is one of their best seasons. they said that after season 14 being pretty out there that season 15 they wanted to reel it back in a bit and get back to their roots.

which is kind of what the season 14 finale was about. There was a lot of metaphors to them being stuck in a rut, just going through the motions the last few seasons, being content to just make money and playing it safe, while not really enjoying it anymore. You can definitely see in Seasons 15 & 16 that the gang regrouped and kind of had a creative reawakening.
