Details on this month's movie winners:

We only allowed for one movie winner as Spiderman and Barbie carried over from last month and should be good to watch this month. Oppenheimer still has a spot secured for as soon as it becomes available for streaming. New winner added is Spotlight.

Movie reaction posting schedule is as follows:

1) Spiderman 9/22/2023

2) Barbie 9/25/2023

3) Spotlight 9/29/2023

We're looking forward to all of these!

Thanks again to everyone who voted! The more of you that vote, the more the poll results reflect what you really want to see :)

We so appreciate the continued support!

[No spoilers, just opinions] I'm interested to rewatch Barbie with you guys to see what you think about it. We've seen it at the cinema and we (4 guys, 2 girls) all hated it. This came as a surprise to us because people seemed to speak highly of it and we went into it expecting to love it. Neither the social commentary is anything you haven't seen before nor are any of the jokes landing, the pacing is all over the place and it feels like 100 tiktoks put next to one another at times.

Since another person voiced their opinion and I don’t want anything to influence your point of view since you’ve never seen the movie before, here is what I think. I went to see Barbie when I was in a weird place with my mum, it was the movie that actually got me to start going back to movies again after years of not doing so. I have to admit that I haven’t seen your Birds of Prey video so I don’t know how you guys feel about Margot Robbie but I have heard JRabbit talk affectionately about The Notebook and Ryan Gosling is so good I’m this role. I also will spoil that it has Will Ferrel, America Ferrara, and Kate McKinnon with roles in it. I know you are both fans of SNL so you might like the role McKinnon plays. I also know you guys enjoyed Superstore and Will Ferrel in general (you have said in previous reactions). I also know that you guys appreciated Little Women (and I don’t know if you reacted to Ladybird or not) and with the exception of saying how you grew up with the Winona Rider Little Women and that limited your enjoyment of the new version, you both were very positive about that movie. Also, the main controversy against Barbie has been about the political “wokeness” and this seems to be the same group of people who were against Turning Red because of its links to a girl going through their period. Even if it was not aimed for everyone, RJ seemed to enjoy at least parts of Turning Red so I would be surprised were he to side with the protestors of this movie. All of this is supposed to be free from major spoilers and from influencing your decision on the movie but it is my fourth favorite movie EVER and I don’t want to see your opinion change from neutral acceptance entering the movie because someone felt that it was right to outright bash it publicly. Again, my thoughts, but someone else expressed theirs so why not express my own
