The wine metaphor also completely flew over my head, don’t worry RJ. It wasn’t until I saw it mentioned in a reddit discussion thread that I realized what they were actually talking about. At the time, I just thought “wow they’re really serious about wine”. 😂 It’s an elegant metaphor though and it has since become a banner for Schitt’s Creek’s huge following of LGBTQ fans. The cast wore shirts with “into the wine, not the label” written on it when they attended a pride parade. But my favorite part of this episode was probably Moira and Johnny bonding with the Schitts. Very good character moments for all four. The writing wasn’t heavy-handed at all which really grounded those conversations into something small and humble instead of proselytising.
