I panicked for a second when your lights flickered, thinking it was my monitor dying lmao. Anyway, man, poor Matt. That scene with his grandma was so heartbreaking. His home situation is just awful. So much on his shoulders that shouldn't be his responsibility. Both his parents are neglectful. I can never remember why his mom isn't there but his dad should at least be doing something to make things easier on Matt. At least Julie thinks he's sweet now lol. Coach Taylor giving him a hard time was hilarious. I think this was the first episode I liked a scene with Buddy Garrity. He's sleazy and smarmy but the one good thing he's got going is that he seems to genuinely love Lyla. I really liked that they explored Smash and his family more this episode. I think we needed that for Smash. I listened to an interview with Liz Mikel (Corrina Williams/Smash's mom) a few months ago and she mentioned how ecstatic she was when she got the script for this episode because it was the first time she'd ever gotten to explore the backstory of a character she was playing. Such a fantastic actress that I wish was in more shows.
