"Puzzle Pieces" - Concept sketch (Patreon)

The art book for SU classic has some really early Steven and Connie drawings that explore their facial shapes fitting together like literal puzzle pieces-- an absolutely darling, and might I say, genius design choice by Kat Morris and Rebecca Sugar. This is where the name for this animatic comes from. 

In "The Future," the style used throughout the episode depicts Steven and Connie a little less like puzzle pieces in their profile view, so I wanted to bring back the original idea for their designs in this animatic. I'm pulling from Etienne's style in "Together Forever" and I think it works out pretty well!
