REFORM! continues with Part 2! This episode will publish on our YouTube channel in September, but since you’re a subscriber, you get it right away. 

In the wake of Ross Perot’s unremarkable showing in 1996, the Reform Party needs a new hero. Badly. They finally find him in the form of Jesse Ventura, one of the most unforgettable figures ever seen in modern American politics. Ventura seems perfectly poised to lead Reform into the future. Everything is going great. I sure hope Ross Perot doesn't start doing Ross Perot stuff again.

It's wildly unnerving how the biggest challenge to a third-party succeeding in this country is not the power of the two others. It's that the biggest names get into a power struggle and polar disunion over who can eventually make it to the top office in the country -- that is, they inevitably create ALL of the problems of a two-party system in miniature, no matter what their platform actually promises.

Knowing Pat Buchanan was the Reform candidate in 2000 but not knowing Perot was the one who brought him in got me to audibly "Oh, God" lol Getting me to actually shed tears for Jack Gargan, who I had never heard of before today and do not agree with politically, is just proof of how good all of these are. He got to watch as his once ideal candidate ran his baby into the ground for the sake of a hyper-bigoted and obviously poisonous reactionary. How can you not feel bad for the guy?

Appreciate it! I've actually finished watching these now, but I'll save your comment and give that a shot for the next videos on here. Ended up putting Steamlink on my Pi to stream it to the TV so I could use the PS4 controller as a controller instead of dealing with mirroring on my phone. this series is already so good, so emotional. even though i probably disagree with most of jack gargan's social and economic views... i feel his pain. the crushing of his spirit feels like the crushing of mine. just like america itself, the noble and just goals of giving the everyman his seat at the table has been corrupted and twisted into yet another avenue for the rich. can't wait to watch part 3!
