Gonna be exploring that dangerous, loathsome time in Bruce's past. When nothing made sense, and each day was an unpredictable churning storm of chaos and fear. I'm talking, of course, about the time Bruce grew a mustache.

Concept art! The teen bullies of Ponyville. There's supposed to be a third member, but he's eluding me for the time being. For now, this is shitty teen I-don't-know-how-to-manage-my-facial-hair Bruce, and his buddy Fisk.

At least that's what I'm calling him for now. None of this is concrete, just gonna toss some ideas out there. Feedback is very welcome!

-Following the end of the Hooffield-Mccolt feud, the two families intermarried here and there. One such member of the new generation of witless rubes is Fisk Mccolt.

-Fisk is one of a baker's dozen siblings. With too many foals competing for attention, Fisk was paid little mind by his dirt poor parents growing up. Despite this, he's still expected to someday take over the family patch o' dirt (nevermind his own dreams), something he deeply resents. He and Bruce bond a lot over shitty parental expectations. It's actually how they met- Fisk's family provides netting, hooks, and gear for Cutthroat's fishing boat.

-Fisk is very intelligent, and his special talent seems to be debate, of all things. He's excellent at picking holes in arguments and spotting tiny flaws others may have missed. He'd actually quite like to join the school debate team, but due to his family's dismissal of "empty talk and hoity-toity book-learnin'", he feels too discouraged. Instead he pretends he'd never want to affiliate with a bunch of nerds, and slacks off in school. Why bother, he's destined for a dirt farm anyway.

Fisk now uses his critical discussion skills to mostly be an ass. He enjoys playing devil's advocate, being deliberately contrarian, and being offensive for the sake of riling up others. He's a fan of kicking metaphorical hornet's nests and has almost gotten his ass kicked a few times, needing Bruce to bail him out quickly. Negative attention is better than none at all.

-He also quite enjoys fucking with Bruce, but their squabbles have an almost affectionate note to them.

-The pair of them like picking on the meek and vulnerable for fun. Make no mistake though, they're very unpopular, and considered cruel and crass losers.

-Fisk, much like Bruce, feels pigeonholed into the role of a "real" stallion. He doesn't allow himself to engage with anything remotely dorky or feminine, and he polices Bruce to do the same. They both certainly make fun of each other at the slightest show of vulnerability. They can't quite relax around each other, nor be who they truly are....It's more of an illusion of friendship than the real thing.

-Fisk bakes a lovely huckleberry pie, and secretly steals his mother's recipe cards to improve and decorate them. It makes him very sad that he has nobody to share his cooking with, save for his ravenous, unappreciative siblings.

-He's got a very strong southern drawl, listening to him and Bruce's accents speaking together will give you a headache. I kinda imagine he sounds like Stinky from Hey Arnold.

I really like this concept and idea for a character! Though it kind of makes me sad that they’re not real friends ajajkaka. Do they ever reconnect in the future?

Diggin' the Bruce'stache and hick eyebrows. Love the love hate, sibling relationship.

Maybe! I think as teens, they do have very rare moments of true connection and vulnerability, maybe when nobody is around....but it quickly gets brushed off with laughs and mean-spirited ribbing. They're. So awkward. I like to think they do reconnect in the future, they have potential to be great friends, should they find the courage to be who they want to be.

Wow! This is fantastic! I'm not usually fond of the whole 'bully' stereotype, at least when they're big, dumb brutes, but I adore the depth that you've introduced in Fisk! He's sly and clever and smug, and you can really see where he's coming from with his antagonistic ways: nobody likes to be pigeonholed, through stereotypes, career choices or otherwise, and honestly, I kind of feel sorry for Fisk. I've been there, feeling like I have no choice but to join the family business, even though I took a less antagonistic approach. I kind of want to see him succeed, and work to achieve his dreams, in spite of the familial pressure. But whatever path he might take, he's a really awesome character through and through. Great job, Miss Oddity. :)

Man I love this chicken necked little punk LOL. I do like the fact that his parents weren’t /mean/ per say just. Not around. The info you gave kinda makes me think part of his jerky ness comes from having to grow up so dang fast. His parents can only take care of so many kids and now all of the sudden HES expected to pick up where they can’t keep up. And between that and the fact that they’ve chosen his future for him him being a jerk is his own way of putting his hoof down... and it’s not like his parents didn’t appreciate what he did but at the same time it was just expected of him, so they just took it for granted almost?? ANYWAY, That’s just what this boy made me think of

I love him!

Fisk looks great, and I'm digging his story. I also really like that you're including the Hooffields and Mccolts, and in a way that feels very true to them: their tendency for huge families. It gives us a window into how that would make one feel left out), and the prospects of the rural poor.

I looove him! Imma be thinking about Fiskie :D And my Brucie...my scruffy disaster boi...thank god someone finally taught you how to shave. I can’t wait to see all this come into play!!

I’m glad! I’m actually thinking of changing his name to Huck (short for Huckleberry). He’s a bully and an idiot, but I’ve been writing a story with him and Bruce, and he’s a fun idiot. Bonus hc: I like to think it was Big Macintosh who taught Bruce how to shave. Cheerilee has had enough looking at her scraggly disaster student and went to her husband for help, like “honey pls”.

What's Fisk's sexuality?

I've changed his name to Huck. :> I imagine he's bi, though maybe unaware of the fact for now. If he does know, it's not something he's ashamed of, it's just a part of him. Though he would absolutely suppress it. As the oldest of his siblings, he's expected to take over the family farm. That means marrying a mare someday and making lots of foals to help out with the workload. His future has no room for a stallion, and besides, his community ain't particularly accepting of "unnatural" relationships.
