*mild season 9 finale spoilers*

since the show gave us a glimpse into the characters' futures and showed how the mane six looked middle-aged, i figured i'd do my own take on them. Here's Twilight! 

I know Lauren Faust meant for Twilight to become Princess Celestia's successor (and the show reflects this with Twilight's future design), but ehh.....I always thought that was kinda dumb. Nothing about Twilight ever indicated she wanted to be the princess of friendship, let alone eventual ruler of an entire nation. Twilight is a nerdy shut-in who prefers books to ponies....the show kinda obliterated her personality to make her Celestia 2.0. I dun like it. So!

My Twilight is the same Twilight of seasons 1-3. She's a kind and selfless leader, a loving friend, and always willing to lend a hoof to a pony in need. But she's also got a sarcasm streak a mile long. She's impatient, eccentric, and a bit of a snob (she grew up sheltered among Canterlot unicorn elite, what do you expect). She's nerdy and neurotic, prone to anxiety, and just a tad socially awkward. She has an ongoing rivalry with friend Starlight, whose magical talents leave Twi a bit salty (she's the princess of magic! An alicorn! How'd she nearly get her flank handed to her by an ordinary unicorn? Never mind Starlight is ten years older and more experienced, hmmph!) Twilight considers herself the princess of Magic more than friendship, and she places greater value on making magical discoveries to benefit Equestria, rather than teaching ponies how to share. She can lose herself in research and reading for days, often falling asleep drooling on her textbooks. She is also the worst dancer Equestria has ever seen (and Discord just loves that about her).

i know lots of people imagine future Twi as tall and elegant but i like her short, chubby, and kind of a doof just let me have this
