arggggghhhhhkfkhtfty cloudburst's color palette continues to frustrate me

Number 1 is her original design palette, it's never been one I was especially satisfied with. It's bland and doesn't do the best job expressing her personality, or who her parents are. So I decided to play around with her look a bit more

2 is the end result of experimenting with a wider range of cool colors in her mane, blues, greens, and purples. Ultimately unsatisfying, just not liking that pastel palette

3 is trying to look more like an even mix of Rainbow x Dumbell......kinda funny that I accidentally made her look like Misty, the first iteration of this character

4 is getting closer! I had the idea that Cloudburst's palette look "cloudy", that she look washed out and not as chromatic as Stormy, Phoenix, and Rainbow. She doesn't stand out as much as the rest of her family, ponies tend to underestimate her and forget about her, so she developed her bombastic personality to compensate

5 is pushing the idea a bit further. Still not quite satisfied but i feel like i'm getting closer

I think 3 or 4 is a good middleground for what you've said between her colours and backstory Pony genetics frankly never was very true to life in terms of inherited phenotypes. I know you show otherwise, but I wouldn't mind something a little different from her siblings. And I just think that kind of blue/teal goes better with her coat than the cream yellow

I like 3 aesthetically. Maybe 3 fur with 2 hair. But I like the direction youre going with 4

A fun little headcannon idea Due to often feeling like a sore hoof in her family of colorfull palletes. Cloudburst often dyes her hair to resembles the more bigger than life attitude she has. In short Cloudburst usually looks like option 4 but she usually dyes her mane and tail to resemble option 1

I think her eyes should remain the true pop of color she has. Kind of hints that on the inside she’s one of the brightest, most colorful ponies you’ll meet. I also like the idea that she regularly dyes her main and tail as an adult. She is a little style icon and always makes sure she looks fab

But does sometimes let her hair go natural, especially if she’s in a blue period for her art or rocking gothic chic for a while

I think that number 3 design is a bit close to Wave Rider’s design, and it can maybe be confusing. I personally prefer number 4, but with hair in a lighter shade
