For now, know that Trixie (and by proxy, Moondancer) is a direct descendant of Starswirl the Bearded(who in my version, turns out to be a kooky old lady: https://www.deviantart.com/lopoddity/art/Some-Kooky-Old-Lady-681846650 ). Blueblood is a direct descendant of Princess Platinum, the original heir to the ancient kingdom of Unicornia. It is through her that Blueblood maintains his royal status, land, and wealth, despite holding no real executive authority. While often casually referred to as a prince, Blueblood's official title is Grand Duke of Canterlot. He is a talented diplomat, and besides Shining Armor (a King Consort), he is the highest ranking civilian royal.
