RedStalkingDeath

They only said there was 9 angels left in HEAVEN, we don't know how many there are on earth

The side characters in this didn't really spark interest and neither did Fortuna honestly. The biggest draw of this episode to me is just hearing a little more about the older gods and a clearer connection of how they came to be, then were shuffled out. Since it's been sparse over the years and after Hammer of the Gods seemed to clear out the bigger names when Luci killed them all, this episode felt jarring but saved itself by Fortuna NOT doing the big historical throwback speech like many others. "People used to be honored to sacrifice themselves" blah blah blah...we get it. And I've never trusted Billie because I remember she really was foaming at the mouth to kill Winchesters and then Cas killed her. I still feel like the cosmic consequences couldn't be just her promotion or for the time he died for a bit otherwise that's sorta lame. Some like Lisa Berry's Death but I preferred OG Death, he was terrifying, calm and never gave much away. Billie had some bs line about a bigger picture with the alt worlds and acted like it bugged her but even her saying Dean wanting to die "didn't sound like the same guy she loved" was so off. Not sure OG Death would give anyone a tour of his library or explain anything so easily, and no way would he even give Dean his book. She teleports groups, assigns shifts to watch the guys and I miss the foodie Death! Then in last season's finale, the Empty/Shadow (that drew a creepy af smile in black goo) was standing with Billie who tells Jack they need. The Empty hates Cas personally for waking it up, it wanted Jack so badly that it invaded heaven, but then accepted a cheap swap out deal when it could have taken both of them right there. Plus it added that whole silly "until you're happy" cop out just to give the fans what we want...wait, that's not at all what we want. Who wants more Cas suffering and knowing danger looms with some secret that will blow up in his family's face soon? To make us feel even worse about the crappy life that our adorable angel is stuck in and now know it will never get better? PASS! The Empty is the new Winchester death, everyone comes back apparently even those who have no reach there ranging from god to Nick???
