Shelley, are you planning to react to the 2 Downton Abbey movies next month? Please let us know! Thanks 😊

That dinner was certainly one of the most shocking scenes of the whole series. Not sure how medically accurate it was, but it made for good drama. I thought the writers were a little heavy-handed with their portrayal of Neville Chamberlain. He appeased Hitler all through the thirties, so they had practically every line of dialogue demonstrating how he'll do anything to avoid a confrontation. The hospital conflict is tedious, although it makes for a lot of good character moments. Mary has figured out about Marigold, for sure. And both Anna and Mrs. Hughes know the truth. They saw Marigold's baby picture under Edith's pillow and Anna spotted Marigold in the train carriage after Edith came back from her flight to London. Mary's not doing anything about it during this crisis, but she does hate to feel she's been made a fool of. I'm glad Andy's being nicer to Thomas now. I loved Anna and Bates sharing an amused little smile when Andy said he didn't want to repeat what he'd heard about Thomas "with a lady present." I was really hoping this was the end of Danker, but she's hanging on for dear life. I find her annoying more than amusing, although I like that she gives Spratt more screen time. Jeremy Swift, who plays Spratt, plays a regular character on Ted Lasso, so I have grown more fond of him on the rewatch.
