Is it wrong to mangle a human out of anger? Yes. Did I giggle-cringe when I first watched what happened to Nick? ...Mayhap... I decline to respond upon the advice of my attorney. 😏 Did this episode feel like chess pieces being moved around a chess board in Not a Great Way? (when, for example, they're afraid to move Sam for a head injury, yet just a few episodes ago they hauled a$$ with Dean in the car to the bunker -- not a hospital -- after a traumatic head injury?) Sure.* *(And no, putting an obvious Mousetrap game metaphor on it does not make it better, dear showrunners. It makes our heroes feel unintelligent because your villain, Nick, is an annoying buffoon.) But, that said, I guess it all makes "sense"... And at least there was one out of two decent fight scenes and some nice mom and son moments. To echo Sharon, ding dong.

That hallway shot when Dean is bringing in Nick at the bunker and the cutaway to Sam walking towards him to slam him into the wall is easily one of the best moments. It was SO nice to see the real Sam again! While he has been a leader, a father and more like the big brother to Dean the last few seasons, he has also been so muted for way too long and it really excited me to see that our Sammy was back! Sadly he reverts back to pushover right after this but it really reminded me of the fire he had back when Bobby joked about him being Mr. Anger Management or him standing up to Dean when he wasn't actively becoming wallpaper and following others.
