Suzanne Hunt

I don't like Dinka! For once I was rooting for Thomas. I am so glad Daisy is staying. I love Rose and Atticus! I can't believe Susan tried to wreck it!

Yes, we now have TWO major storylines involving innocent people jailed for murder. And they're husband and wife. Such. Lazy. Writing. Rose and Atticus are just cute as a whole bag of buttons. And this episode's MVP is totally Lady Sinderby. I loved that icy smile as she "thanked" Susan for the news about her divorce and threatened to leave Lord Sinderby if he derailed things. Do not mess with the mama bear. Especially because I think she's feeling like she's a mother to Rose (who could use a good one) as well as Atticus. Robert had a good week, too. He was his best self through the whole episode. Arranging the memorial for Mrs. Patmore's nephew and making a public tribute to him, selling his precious painting to fund the new cottages, making it clear to Cora that he blames only himself for that whole unpleasant situation, and figuring out Marigold's parentage and accepting that he has an illegitimate granddaughter, which is not a typical thing for a nobleman of that era to accept. Although I still shake my head at him recognizing Marigold as Michael Gregson's child and not Edith's. I think there's definitely a mother/daughter resemblance and it would make a lot more sense for him to have some deja vu from the time Edith was a toddler than to see resemblance to a man he barely knew several years ago. Miss Danker is an entertaining sociopath, that's all there is to it. It does surprise me that Andy agreed to go with her at all, let alone a second and a third time. (Fun fact: the actor who plays Andy is the boyfriend of Laura Carmichael, who plays Edith.) It was satisfying to see Thomas use his powers for good, for once. The next episode is actually one of my favorites, so I'm looking forward to next week!

I've always found the Michael Gregson comment very odd. But the more times I see the episode, I'm starting to think Robert was trying to be clever...maybe? As if he was thinking "You're not getting one past me....I know it's Edith's child!" Maybe I'm giving him way too much credit....
