The fruit is a quince. I LOVE that you said ‘murder’ before Dean did. FYI - the torture but afterward was an ad lib by Jensen, it wasn’t in the script… Not the best episode but it had some good moments in it

I always refer to this episode as "the consequences of not having Crowley around" since he always procured the rare objects and items necessary for their spells. The forbidden fruit from the tree in The Garden of Eden was a quince, as Sharon said above ;). IIRC, that is the tree of knowledge. What Castiel is searching for comes from the tree of life. This episode has a few cute moments but yeah - mafia stuff is not my thing either. And I haven't seen any of The Godfathers or many other popular titles in that genre.

I actually really enjoy this episode. I like the priest. I mean the next episode is so plot heavy that you need this episode to just enjoy and take a breath😁😁😁😁

I'm not a fan of mafia stories either, but I actually liked this one. I love the episodes when the guys are dealing in the human world. Plus it wasn't just a takeoff on mob movies, there were also a few nods to old-school detective stories. The Greenstreet guy was an homage to Sydney Greenstreet, who was an actor in a lot of those old black & white noir films. Most notably The Maltese Falcon with Humphrey Bogart. And Sam's hypothetical question about Dean losing Baby was hilarious. Can't wait for the next one! I might have a drink or two myself when I watch this one with you!

I really enjoy these quirky episodes. This one being Supernatural's slant on The Maltese Falcon for lack of a better description.

I forgot basically the whole plot of this episode ngl. Except for the "what would you do if somebody stole the impala" scene, that one is definitely memorable XD I hate mafia stuff too.

This episode falls flat for me, too. The only thing I would rewatch (and did many times) is Dean thinking about murder and torture if someone stole Baby. Although him running into the warehouse with both guns blazing was a great shot. Always wondered if it might have come across better in black and white to play more on the detective/mob noir than modern day.

This episode isn't my favourite of the season, but I still enjoy it. I'm not a big fan of Mafia stuff either, but I've seen a few movies (The Godfather being one of them) so I enjoyed the little references to them throughout, as well as to the film noir/detective films from the 40s. I also loved Dean being his badass self with the Mafia guy and, as per usual, not letting people in a position of power, get the better of him or make him show fear. My badass boy! Also, I really liked the priest, and thought he was a well thought out, one off character. I loved the message he gave the boys, that even if the world is going to hell in a handbasket, we shouldn't stop doing what we know is right. I think it must be easy for them to feel defeated given all the evil they fight. Like, how Sam was feeling at the end. It's completely understandable. But I love that Dean said he has faith (yes in themselves, I believe. And maybe a bit of faith in humanity.) And of course, I love the moment about Baby. Dean's immediate and complete lack of chill made me laugh so hard. 😆😆 Of course the next episode is fabulous and I can't wait to see your reaction. 😊❤️

I like this episode for how different it is, and the noir aspects. The actor who plays the priest, Italian actor Massi Furlan, does a fabbulous job. Did it completely work? No, the auction house lady that had the hots for Sam was too cliche and one note. But it's sure better than other 'trial' espisodes like the Clue episode in S10 that was so bad.
