Never gonna be a Destiel shipper 😏 but I did love all the Dean and Cas stuff happening in this episode, I love their bond so much, and I love the reference to getting TFW back together. The three of them together are always the best! ❤️ I also love that they're all so much better about understanding each other's POV now. Like, in the past there's no way Dean would have been able to see past his own sense of betrayal at Cas "playing" him to understand where Cas was coming from. I'm thrilled that he could now. Even more importantly, I love that in this episode, Cas does in fact feel like he finally got a win by taking out Dagon - which is fantastic! He so deserves it. I love that we got some insight into what's happening with the Nephilim. I think it's PERFECTLY understandable and reasonable that all of TFW in the beginning of this episode is against the son of Lucifer being born. I mean, I certainly get the idea that nothing is born evil, and I remember that when I watched it my first time, my opinion was that I wanted them to let it be born and then wait and see. But I never thought it was at all ridiculous that they're all terrified to let something that powerful be born into the world. I mean, if it does turn out to be pure evil like Lucifer, how on earth could they stop it once its in the world? Of course, Cas changes his mind in the end, but I still get where the boys are coming from. Oh, and hell yeah, there is a shit ton of Mechanic!Dean AUs out there. 😄 Psst...I may have written an entire series with Mechanic!Dean. 😉 Great reaction to a great episode! Episodes like this is why I don't understand some people's extreme dislike of this season, and of all the later seasons in general. Maybe not every episode is perfect, but there are still so many great ones. And the story arcs are still strong and enjoyable in my view. Anyway, fabulous episode, and your reaction was great. 😊

Fantastic episode and so lovely to see Cas find something to believe in again. On the mixtape thing, I made many in the 80s and 90s for friends and family. None were romantic gestures. Remember, Cas called them his family, not "my boyfriend and his brother". I love this season so much and next season even more. It's perfect. So glad you appreciate it too.

glad that you called people out on their comments about your destiel shipping, shelley. it's so unnessary for people to yuck on someone else's yum. there are plenty of reactors out there who don't ship them, and it's well known that you do. if people have different ideas/interpretations of their dynamic, that's obviously fine, but to state that as fact ("it is NOT romantic" etc) is just ridiculous imo. to each their own, live and let live, etc.

Since you have pointed out Dean's growth a couple times this season, I just want to point out some really amazing growth here. I know the mix tape is the attention grabber. But for me the true intimate moment, is Dean expressing how he felt when Cas was MIA. He told Cas his anger was because he was afraid something would happen to him. He reiterated that he values Cas and their relationship. He attempted to set a healthy boundary that Cas doesn't disappear without contact. And he listened to Cas's feelings and provided reassurance. It may be one of the healthiest conversations on this show. It also is evidence for my belief that Dean's most intimate relationship is with Cas. He clearly cares for and loves Sam greatly. And he knows him better than anyone. But he is more open and honest with Cas. Season 12 holds a very special place in my heart because of how Dean gets to grow this season. I know a lot of people don't like it for differing reason....BMOL, Mary, etc. But for me, it's a really lovely season.
