So angry that Mick killed the newly turned werewolf.

This episode is written by Meredith Glynn, she's one of the new three writers who joined this season and we're so lucky to have her on this show, she's amazing, i love this episode, anytime i get to see my girl Claire is a good time, however i absolutely hate that they dropped the Cas & Claire relationship almost entirely for the sake of building Sam & dean's relationship with her for 2 episodes in a row now just because cas can only been in a specific number of episodes 🙄, i think john and Mary are worlds apart in not being perfect, i like Mary but can't stand john, i don't think he was heroic, he was driven by revenge not the need to save people, to me that's the difference, Mary's driven by the need to save the world for her boys, to make it safe, john was driven by vengeance for his dead wife and made the world unnecessary less safe for Sam & dean because of it but you're right that dean had an unrealistic ideal version of both john & Mary in his head that looks nothing like the real john and mary

Love me a good Claire episode.

His purpose was get the thing that killed Mary, dean even say as much in season 1, that's "the mission", get the thing that killed mom, that was the goal

Absolutely love this episode! I love whenever Claire pops up. I also love to see Dean's "dad" treatment of her. It's very adorable! I was also very happy when he got to actually break that guy's face, even if he wasn't the werewolf. Still a douche who deserved to be popped in the mouth by a big fist! 😁 Very enjoyable reaction! ❤

@Helen Wood I agree - both parents loved their sons, and both parents made huge mistakes. But in the end none of the characters in the show are perfect. I will never hate John. I've heard all the arguments, but I just don't hate him. I hate some of his actions, and know there were things he could have done differently that would have been less damaging to the boys, but in the end, he was doing what he thought was best in completely untenable circumstances. Which has also been the case with all three members of TFW as well! They've done the best with what they had in front of them, and made lots of mistakes. And every case John took throughout the 20 + years he was a hunter was NOT about revenge or tracking the demon. We learn in S1 that the demon hadn't even been around since Mary's death, or at least not that John could find. So, he saved hundreds of people not out of a need for revenge, but likely more a need to save people from the kind of dark, horrifying despair he'd gone through.

I'm finally catching up on these reactions. But since you and Shelley brought the Cas thing up, I just needed to advocate for Claire for a minute. She is not comfortable around Cas. She has let go of her hate of him, and respects him. And wants him to be happy. But he looks like her dad. Imagine the most traumatic moment of your life is your dad leaving. It leads to your mother abandoning you. Then you end up in the system where you have terrible experiences that have shaped who you are. I don't think anyone would then be okay with seeing someone who looks like your dad and having a relationship with him. That is so traumatizing. You are being constantly reminded of all of that. And sure if she was in therapy actually dealing with this stuff maybe she could have a relationship, but our characters don't get therapy lol. So, in this case, I like that Claire and Cas have the relationship they do because it respects her boundaries. But that's just in the case with Claire...in you know what I mean.
