we already met Joshua way back in season 5, he was the only angel that god occasionally still spoke to after he left heaven, we met him in dark side of the moon when the boys got killed and went to heaven, cas told dean to follow the road to the garden and find Joshua coz he can speak to god, back then cas was still trying to reach god thinking he's the answer, that's why cas was surprised that even Joshua was on the hunt for the nephilim since he usually just stays in the garden and doesn't get involved I love the scene between dean and Crowley so much and that he thanked him for saving cas and Crowley saying he did it for them, i knew he didn't like cas that much lol but he knows it would hurt dean so much to lose cas, the glasses!! I love that this episode incorporated lore from season 3, 5 & 8, brilliant writing, Davy perez is an amazing writer! He's one of the new 3 writers that joined the show this season (Davy perez, Steve yockey and Meredith Glynn) and i love them all so much! I think these three carried the dabb era on their back! Coz if it was just dabb and buckleming i wouldn't have made it to the end lol, He wrote American nightmare with magda being a psychic kid like Sam incorporating season 2's plot and also wrote stuck in the middle with you, Steve yockey wrote celebrating the life of asa fox and Lily sunder has some regret, Meredith Glynn wrote regarding dean, look out for their episodes they're bangers

I love how mature the boys now are, even though it clearly hurts Dean that Sam went behind his back and joined the men of letters he goes along with it whereas in prior seasons they wouldnt have been so civil. I love Jensens microexpressions because without them it would seem like dean was pretty ok with Sam joining the bmol but clearly there’s still some feelings of betrayal (I swear this entire season is literally just about deans abandonment issues lol, although I’m glad they’re being properly addressed). Also happy that Sam told Dean after only a few weeks because in the past he would have kept that a secret for much longer

Love this episode. Sam thanking Crowley, Dean accepting Sam's decision and Lucifer being humiliated. Also agree on the nephilim. The kid deserves a chance.

So (too?) often we have to get through the not-great supernatural to get to the good stuff. and Yockey and Perez are amazing. love them. last thought - dean in glasses. :)
