Fall- Yay!!! Fall is absolutely and easily another one of my overall favorites throughout this Frozen arc. I love Fall so, so much!! It isn't perfect, and there are some choices made throughout this episode in regards to Elsa's and Emma's characters, that aren't great, but as a whole... I absolutely love this episode and it's about as close to perfect as any episode of any show can be. First, in regards to why Gold doesn't pull the Snow Queen into his hat to gain her power... it's because they have an understanding between one another. And because Gold has made a deal with Ingrid that protects her from him turning against her, as much as a part of him wishes he could take her power for himself. And you know that Gold always honors his end of the deals he makes. Plus... Gold makes it pretty clear throughout this episode that he actually wants the Snow Queen to succeed in her plans to cast her Spell of Shattered Sight, because this way ensures that no one will be left alive to come after him once he cleaves himself from the dagger upon killing Hook, then escapes out into the outside world with Belle and Henry to wreak havoc among the outside world. Now... my absolute favorite moment in this entire episode is the most beautiful moment between Emma and Killian, when Killian comes to the sheriff's station to sadly say goodbye to Emma. And what's worse... is that Killian knows he's about to die by Gold's hand and so his goodbye to Emma as far as he believes is a final goodbye, whereas Emma only believes he's saying goodbye to her for the time being, for as long as the Snow Queen's Spell of Shattered Sight remains upon them. It's so sad and such a beautiful moment for them. And while Killian's heart is under Gold's control, he still feels just as deeply as Regina does, as is revealed by Mary Margaret to Regina back in season three's episode... Bleeding Through, when Zelena had taken Regina's heart too. I balled when I first saw this scene in Fall when this episode first aired on television, and I still tear up every time since. The emotion we see in both Killian's and Emma's eyes, as well as on their faces... heartbreaking. Especially Killian's tearful goodbye. And then... once Killian leaves, there's a brief moment where Emma reaches up to touch her lips upon feeling Killian's kiss linger on them, and she shows this strange look like she senses something is very wrong, which I love because it shows that Emma senses something's wrong with Killian. Like his heart isn't fully into their kiss, and the truth is that it isn't, given that his heart is currently being held captive by Gold. So I really love this too. Phenomenal acting from both Colin O'Donoghue and Jennifer Morrison throughout this beautiful moment!! Another of my overall favorite moments in this episode is when Anna and Kristoff are trapped inside the trunk beneath the ocean, as Kristoff fights to give the woman he loves the strength she needs to have hope, and when Anna attempts to marry him before they die. It's so beautiful and this episode makes me love both Anna and Kristoff all that much more. Their scenes together all throughout this episode has also brought Anna and Kristoff up to be among one of my overall favorite True Love couples throughout all of Once Upon a Time. Along with my other favorite True Love couples... Emma and Killian, Snow White and Prince Charming, and Regina and Robin Hood. I love Rumple and Belle too of course, but they slip every now and again for me. But more on them later... Back to Fall... I love both of the actors who play Anna and Kristoff, Elizabeth Lail and Scott Michael Foster, very much. And I think it's wonderful that Kristoff is given so much more screen time throughout this episode. Love it! :) Another favorite moment... is the very brief moment when we see Killian hiding from Emma behind the counter at Granny's with the heartbreaking look of guilt and despair on his face. Again... Killian's emotion is breathtaking and heartbreaking. I feel so badly for him. And seeing him so broken makes me hate Rumple for causing all of this. Now, as for the Arendelle storyline between Anna and Kristoff... I love it. All of it!! I love seeing that the Snow Queen's freeze spell wears off for an unknown reason at the time, and I love the cute banter back and forth between them. I love seeing Anna and Kristoff fight against Prince Hans and his three brothers so they can escape. And then they come up with a plan to face Black Beard upon Anna having read in her parents' journal about the Wishing Star that they had possibly gotten from Black Beard, rather than face off against an evil wizard... Rumplestiltskin. Unfortunately, Hans outsmarts them and makes a deal with Captain Black Beard so they can capture Anna and Kristoff, then get rid of them once and for all. And in doing so, Hans plans to kill the heroes, but instead of just making them walk the plank and drowning them, Black Beard forces Anna and Kristoff into a trunk, then throws the trunk overboard with them inside. I hate Hans, aside from appreciating how much the actor chosen to play him is perfect in playing Prince Hans. However, I do enjoy the partnership between him and Black Beard... mostly because I just love Black Beard as a villain. He's hilarious and delightfully cheesy, and I love Charles Mesure as Black Beard. I like him as an actor. As for them being aboard the Jolly Roger... I recognized the Jolly Roger from the moment we see it onscreen again. And when Black Beard states that he is the Captain of the Jolly Roger, I always want to slap him. The Jolly Roger rightfully belongs to Hook, not to Black Beard, and certainly to no one else. However, the question is... how does Black Beard have it now? If you remember from back in season three's episodes... New York City Serenade, The Jolly Roger, and its finale... There's No Place Like Home, Hook had known that Black Beard has wanted to take the Jolly Roger away from him for many years, and at first in the episode, The Jolly Roger... Hook defeats Black Beard and takes back the Jolly Roger from him, then it was revealed in There's No Place Like Home... that Hook had traded his ship to someone for a magic bean so he could get back to Emma so he could save her and so she could save her family from the new curse that was coming. Now... it was never said then who Hook had traded the Jolly Roger to, but seeing as Black Beard is currently in possession of her in this current episode and in the present time... it's clear that Hook sadly had to give over his ship and the only home he's known since he and his older brother Liam had been in the Royal Navy together and was trapped in Neverland for over two hundred years, to Black Beard. It's tragic really because Black Beard doesn't deserve Hook's ship, but I absolutely love seeing the connections between this episode... Fall, and season three's episodes... New York City Serenade, The Jolly Roger, and There's No Place Like Home! Phenomenal!! And as for why Black Beard was necessary to bring into this episode... this is why. In order to connect these episodes together and to reveal what's come of the Jolly Roger at last. I love it!! Next... we also learn through Hans that all of Arendelle has been frozen for the last thirty years, which brings this storyline we believed to all be within the past, up to the present day... as it leads us into the Storybrooke storyline. You were confused by the timeline a bit in this episode. Anna and Kristoff aren't in the portal for thirty years. They are frozen through all of the Storybrooke events, including during the time of Regina's and Pan's dark curses, until the Snow Queen then casts the Spell of Shattered Sight, which needs every bit of power she possesses. Therefore, by her casting the spell, all of her power used to keep all of Arendelle frozen for the last thirty years, wears off and frees everyone once more. Then... when Elsa wishes on the wishing star for Anna to be with her, just as Anna and Kristoff inside the locked trunk under the ocean are about to die, the portal opens and saves them, bringing Anna and Kristoff to Storybrooke. And I absolutely love it! I love how the writers and creators are able to connect both storylines to bring everyone together as they have. I hope my explanation makes sense to you. Now, as for the Storybrooke storyline... I absolutely love it overall!!! I like how this storyline begins with another scene between Rumple and Ingrid, as they make a deal between one another. In exchange for Rumple sparing her life and leaving her alone in Storybrooke with Emma and Elsa, the Snow Queen agrees to allow Rumple to leave with Belle and Henry as well. Very smart, as I really enjoy every scene between these two villains. Next... we have each of the scenes where the heroes are trying to come up with a plan to either stop the Snow Queen's Spell of Shattered Sight altogether by using Anna's necklace to either find Anna, or to use the mirror dust embedded in it to cast the fairies' and Belle's spell that can counteract the curse's affects over everyone. I really enjoy each of these scenes with them together. Unfortunately, Rumple forces Killian through his control over Killian's heart to destroy the fairies' and Belle's efforts, by ordering Killian to trap all of the fairies including Blue inside the Sorcerer's hat. And you can see the shattering guilt on Killian's face when he entraps Blue, as he remorsefully apologizes to her for doing so. I absolutely love this moment in this episode!! It's very sad and quite exciting. And then... because Rumple destroys all of the heroes' chances to save themselves from Ingrid's spell, they are all forced to accept that the curse is going to fall over them. So they must plan to protect one another. Which I will talk about in a moment... I enjoy the scenes between Emma and Elsa, while Elsa continues to fight to believe she will find Anna, even against the other heroes' decision. But more than these... I absolutely love the moment Elsa makes the wish that Anna would be there in Storybrooke with her, not knowing that Anna's necklace is in fact the Wishing Star that her parents had bought from Black Beard after all, yet could never use it to wish away Elsa's ice magic because the Wishing Star requires the wisher to be of pure heart. Elsa's, Anna's, and Kristoff's reunion, as well as seeing Anna and Kristoff become saved from death... is beautiful. I absolutely love seeing them all come together again! :) Now, in regards to my very minor dislike of these scenes... Elsa makes some pretty strange choices throughout these scenes in regards to how she steals the necklace, go slow enough for Emma to easily catch up to her again before she can break down the tunnel's wall, and then takes time later to hug Anna when the curse is about to fall over them. But I understand why they were written... so that Elsa and Emma could save Anna and Kristoff and bring them to Storybrooke. So these are very minor nitpicks. Next... the fairies have all become trapped inside the Sorcerer's hat and the heroes have all taken the precautions needed to protect one another. I really enjoy the scene in the sheriff's station when Kristoff greets David again, and they and Anna are brought together again, as well as when David introduces them to Mary Margaret and Emma as his daughter to Anna and Kristoff. I love that Anna questions how Emma can be David's and Mary Margaret's daughter. Very cute. Again... they are in a hurry, so it doesn't make sense that the heroes would stop to talk like this, but it's still a cute scene nonetheless. And there are a lot of shows and movies that makes these kinds of mistakes. So I can easily let these nitpicks go. I would love to see more of David's and Kristoff's friendship. But I just really love their brief moment together upon seeing these two friends reunited. And while we haven't seen more of their friendship with one another... it's definitely very believable. Sadly, Mary Margaret and David lock themselves up into the separate jail cells, while Kristoff must lock himself in cuffs to one of the desks so he too can't hurt anyone. And Emma must take baby Neal to protect him since she, Elsa, and Anna are immune. And later, Mary Margaret shows her fear to her husband, who assures her to have hope. These moments are very sad and touching. I also truly love the moments between Regina and Robin, as well as between Regina and Henry as well. Their moments are so sweet and beautiful, while also heartbreaking. They all love one another so much. One more tiny thing that really does kind of bother me about this episode... it's that towards the beginning, Regina tells Robin that the only ones who believes in her are him and Henry. However, this isn't true. Everyone believes in Regina now too. Or at least all of the heroes do. Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Killian, etc... Mary Margaret spent the last episode trying to convince Regina to believe in herself like she believes in her. So hearing Regina continue to say that she doesn't feel the others believe in her as much too... it's a little aggravating. I suppose I can understand that Regina is still really struggling to believe in herself and therefore she can't really see how much others do, but... oh well. I also absolutely love the scenes between Rumple and Killian, first in the beginning in the harbor when Killian is first told of Rumple's plans for him and for the fairies, as well as in the end when Killian tries to warn Rumple that he could have Belle's love if he just let go of his lust for power, after which Rumple threatens Killian once more as he tells Killian to enjoy his last day alive. So sad, but their rivalry is amazing as always! :) And lastly... my final favorite moment in this episode is the montage sequence showing each of the heroes looking up into the sky as the Snow Queen's Spell of Shattered Sight begins to fall. It's phenomenal and the music is so beautiful and perfect. Everyone looks so afraid and defeated. And we see Anna embrace her sister while she looks over at Kristoff as the spell falls, as well as David and Mary Margaret holding hands, while Emma protects her baby brother. And then... the glass from the spell shatters in their eyes and David and Mary Margaret let go of one another while they stare at one another coldly once the curse has fallen. It's so sad and frightening, and amazing! I love, love, love this episode so much!! And it's definitely one of my favorite episodes of season four, and throughout the entire show too!! I am so grateful for your reaction, Shelley. Thank you so much!!! Until your next reaction...

You just misheard haha so Anna, Kristoff, and all off Arendelle are frozen for 30 years. So when they were unfrozen, they unfroze in the current present time with Elsa and every one else, so logic is actually okay on that part 😂

haha i love your confusion at the end. but yeah Anna talks a lot so it may have been hard to pay attention. but i’m so happy that you enjoyed the episode! i really love this whole set up of the snow queens curse. it’s very ominous as you said, and it just has you wondering what’s going to happen next. i can’t wait for the next reaction! see you then :)

😂🙏🏼 Oh yeah also another cool thing one might oversee watching for the first time , is how in one of the earlier episodes when with bopeeps staff they’re able to know she’s alive because they hear her heartbeat, goes with the fact that she was still and frozen for all that time which I thought was pretty cool connection!
