The villagers blamed the old tower's curse for all their misfortunes, and they warned you to stay away. Ever the heroes, your party couldn't resist the temptation to investigate, hoping to dispel whatever evil clung to the ruins.

After clearing the rubble from the trapdoor in the northwest corner, you make your way down the stairs. A gust of wind rips through the stairway, accompanied by a blood-curdling scream, and the trapdoor slams shut behind you.

You stand in darkness for a moment, holding your breath, before the torches on the walls spark into life, willed into being by whatever creature dwells down here.

This battle map was inspired by the ruins of a castle a 20 minute walk from my home. I really liked the idea that the tower had been completely untouched since its collapse, and figured the best way to make that happen was for locals to tell stories of a curse on the ruins. With cause for curses in mind, I included a dungeon with several cells and a torture chamber - perhaps the tower was destroyed by the vengeful spirit of someone who died there, and their ghost now lingers in the dungeons, cursing the lands of their killer?

I've provided WebP tiles for the tree by the tower, as well as tiles for the opened trapdoor to the dungeon, and opened doorways in the dungeon. I'm still experimenting with Foundry here and there, and I'm really excited to start providing Foundry modules to my Patrons, but I don't have a timeline on that just yet - I'm hoping I should be able to start posting some early next month, if all goes well!

My maps are made with assets from Forgotten Adventures and AoA (bolstered with assets of my own making here and there), and they usually come with day/night, edited/unedited, and light/lightless variants, plus JPEGs, WebPs with transparent backgrounds, and UVTT (DD2VTT) files for Foundry VTT if the map features buildings or interiors.
