Despite nowhere near finished with the exterior, I am continuing the new behaviors for Shinobu's logic. In preparation of the spilling-water-to-piss-her-off mechanic, I Improved Shinobu's holding system so it is more robust and allows her to pick up stuff in different situations. She can now pick up stuff at any height. Depending on the height of the target object, she will bend her knees more.

A small bug I fixed was making sure her hand does not go through the object and the floor when picking stuff up. As highlighted in this image:

She will also pick better spots to stop and perform the pick up animation. This was done by reworking the physics tests surrounding the object:

Also, as described in the beta release post (if you were able to see it), the holding system now supports holding bigger bulkier objects that need to be held in a different way. Such as her hat:

This means that she will be able to hold the glass of water in a way that prevents spilling the water. Speaking of her hat, she can now appropriately pick up her hat and wear it. There is still a bit of clipping as highlighted in the video to follow but it will be fixed as I go along. Video of the new additions to her AI here.

As you can see, she can now look around for nearby objects to pick up. I think this helped her interactions with the environment feel more organic. She is slowly building an AI that can combine several behaviors. Ignore the cross eyed bug. I forgot to turn off a line during debugging.

I have yet to announce v0.3 but it looks like its going to be early in January as I may be going out of town for Christmas. Hard date will be announced within a week. Stay tuned!
