A small bug I fixed was making sure her hand does not go through the object and the floor when picking stuff up. As highlighted in this image:
She will also pick better spots to stop and perform the pick up animation. This was done by reworking the physics tests surrounding the object:
Also, as described in the beta release post (if you were able to see it), the holding system now supports holding bigger bulkier objects that need to be held in a different way. Such as her hat:
This means that she will be able to hold the glass of water in a way that prevents spilling the water. Speaking of her hat, she can now appropriately pick up her hat and wear it. There is still a bit of clipping as highlighted in the video to follow but it will be fixed as I go along. Video of the new additions to her AI here.
As you can see, she can now look around for nearby objects to pick up. I think this helped her interactions with the environment feel more organic. She is slowly building an AI that can combine several behaviors. Ignore the cross eyed bug. I forgot to turn off a line during debugging.
I have yet to announce v0.3 but it looks like its going to be early in January as I may be going out of town for Christmas. Hard date will be announced within a week. Stay tuned!
