DMCA Updates + New Affiliates (Patreon)

We successfully have some new affiliates to help the site! Huge step up for us!

In addition to Anime Art Academy we also got into the NordVPN program. Let's hope some of the organic traffic converts. Both of these services are actually pretty good.

For the DMCA requests bombarding the site, they have successfully been stopped with nothing but radio silence from the big names that were sending them (well, so far at least) - including Comeso GMBH and a few other SAAS providers who are geared toward protecting OnlyFans creators. It was surprising, because some Only Fans creators were sending us DMCA requests for the website simply based on the fact they share a name with the Waifu in question.. absolutely silly. 

Here is the content of the counter-notice that I served, for those curious:

MyWaifuList has never, and will never, facilitate or enable piracy. The purpose of this website is for voting on characters, leaving commentary on characters, and determining who is the best Waifu or husbando in a given series. Our storage of readily available information about the series is to help facilitate that task. 

We do not make available, in any form, the original work for reading, streaming, or any other illegal use.  MyWaifuList stores promotional content, such as the official cover art, which can be accessed by media outlets and various websites. It also provides valuable details such as the work type (manga or anime) and episode count. This information enables a convenient Watchlist feature, a common component found on numerous anime fan websites like MyAnimeList and Anilist. 

Lastly, MyWaifuList maintains good standing with RightStuf, owned by Crunchyroll, LLC, and has maintained compliance in their affiliate program as a legitimate site for anime.

The second counter-notice i served to Comeso was a little more bitchy:

It is evident, by other DMCA requests against MyWaifuList, including those with nearly blank pages, that comeso gmbH is simply attacking our websites based on the title in google results. We assert our right to fair use and immediately request that comeso gmbH stops attacks on our listings in Google. We are a legitimate anime website and our use is covered under fair use in the same way MyAnimeList is, and our existence is beneficial to the anime industry at large.

For the other counter-notices against content creators on OnlyFans, I served a counter as they are not the copyright holder:

The counter notice provided by "Ceartas DMCA" is not valid, as they do not possess ownership or representation rights over the content in question. It is evident that they have merely utilized the name of the content creator (Erica Fontaine) to lodge this request.

This assertion is substantiated by Lumen notice 35303854, which indicates that our website has been subject to DMCA takedown requests along with various adult media websites. However, it's important to note that our website is not affiliated with adult media content in any way.

The character Erica Fontaine, featured on MyWaifuList, originates from the Sakura Wars (新サクラ大戦) series, which is a creation of Sega Corporation in Japan. Neither Ceartas nor the entity they are representing hold any rights to this content.

Let's hope we've seen the end of these, as I don't like blasting my personal information out to some third-party company that I know nothing about, while they can hide behind an LLC name.
