Great stuff Rob. Question - I get how Bmaj, Bmaj7 and B7 are all voicings of B, but how does a Bflat work in the key of B? Same with the Emin? Obviously they sound great but they arent in the key of B so how would I know from a theory perspective that they could fit in there?

Great song and breakdown....Fats would be proud.....your singing is awesome too, Rob!

Lots of very cool bits here, Rob. It's interesting to have a song in the key of B. Love the riffs and barre chord sounds. Fats had it going on! So glad he left us such special music.

awesome - can you put the mp3 up for this one to play along to?

Thank you Darren, his passing didn't receive a ton of attention, so I'm very happy to be sharing this tune with you all. 89 years of inspiring countless musicians, that's a hell of a good life!

Hey Gillian, this was an absolute pleasure to create, so glad you're enjoying it! Hopefully this will be the last tribute I have to make for a while...but at least in this case, it was to a man who lived a long and fulfilled life. Be well and enjoy your practice! -Rob

Hey Pam, glad to hear from you and thanks for the positive feedback. This one is definitely staying in my repertoire!

You're right Dawn, not to many tunes are written in the key of B, but I actually found it very comfortable to sing in, maybe that's my key! Anyway, thanks for reaching out, so glad you're picking things up and enjoying the lesson. Talk soon. -Rob

You're a great tutor Rob, no crap but straight to the point, thank you.

Hey Rune, thank you, glad you're digging my teaching style. I'm trying my best to keep these videos concise, and not go rambling off. I'll continue to include little tidbits about theory, but not get too long winded. Enjoy your practice and progress!

De rien! So glad that you are able to make use of these lessons in spite of the language barrier. I hope to eventually add subtitles for my international viewers. Thanks for your comment Herbin!

Hi, thanks for the great lessons, particularly enjoyed Folsum Prison Blues and Blueberry Hill recently. Did you tab out all of Blueberry Hill or just the intro? Alan

I almost have it!... except that B chord is difficult for me. Sounds terrible. I thought maybe using the cheating way would work, but then I have to rush to play the riff and it just doesn't work. Also, your method of using one finger doesn't work for me because I have weak, thin, short fingers. So I am practicing the B using all my fingers to make the A hoping that one of these days it will sound right. Any suggestions or tips on how to make that B chord sound better? Thanks
