Hello friends,

In response to the passing of Allman Brothers frontman Greg Allman, I've created a chord sheet for my 2014 lesson on "Melissa." In this tutorial, I'll take you through the beautiful open string chord changes for the verse and bridge sections, and show you some strumming techniques that you can apply throughout the tune.

Very few bands have had more of an impact on me as a guitarist and songwriter than the Allman Brothers... and so It's with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to the "midnight rider". Greg was a world class singer-songwriter and I look forward to paying homage to his work in the coming days. Enjoy your practice friends. -Rob

Outstanding. Even beginners like me can find success with your lessons. It’s such a beautiful song. Fun to play along with tossing in the little fills too under the chords.

Hi Rob, Beautiful rendition and tutorial as always. Being one of your older subscribers I grew up listening to the Allman Brothers, one of my favorite bands. Thanks for the chord sheet update. Bryan

A classic... on the climb up F#m - G#m - A... playing the A at the 5th position without the bar(just the E shape) gives a real nice full sound
