Similarly to goblins, kobolds are capable of dramatic adaptations, admittedly to a far lesser extent than the pointy-eared mammals. Kobolds can adapt to suit an environment within an average of 5 generations. One common adaptation is the Sealeg Kobold, or 'Seabold', for short. With gills, sonar fins on their jaws and clear double-lids on their eyes, they're fit for life in the big blue just as any fish.

Many seabolds prefer their adapted habitat to such a degree that they choose never to leave, instead focusing their life around the aquatic as much as possible. Many become pirates, offshore fishermen or sailors. Well, sailor's assistants and very nonthreatening pirates.
