can’t wait to get off work and watch this !!

Tessa Gattullo

I believe the line is "Becky with the good hair".

Tessa Gattullo

Is this mostly Lemonade songs? Does anyone know?

Anonymous

Yeah it’s in reference to the woman who got with Jay z when he had an affair while with bey

cyd

YES! Beyonce is a beast. She's unreallll. And to end with Love on Top??? i love seeing how much went into this performance and I always love getting a look into her mind with documentaries. Also to answer a couple of your questions that came up (that I can currently remember): The person who came out to dance with her during "Get Me Bodied" was her younger sister Solange and Jay-Z's full name is Sean Carter so that's where the Carter comes from in Beyonce's name.

m

one thing about Bey is that she will drop a riff just because and while doing the hardest choreography. I literally love the song “Formation” YOU MIX THAT NEGRO W THAT CREOLE- literally my parents lol To answer some questions/ some fun facts -Beyonce Knowles-Carter is Bey's name hyphenated w/ Jay Z's. - Bey has 3 kids Blue Ivy (who performs with her at her Renaissance tour-she is 12) and her twins - This is her homecoming after being gone due to pregnancy - A homecoming is like a spirit week followed by a dance in most high schools and colleges, but at an HBCU-(Historically Black Colleges and Universities) It's kind of the same thing but much more over-the-top huge celebrations, bands, parties, etc. Thats the reason for the huge incorporation of the band in this performance - Blue Ivy is Beyonce’s eldest daughter and in one of her songs in beychella she says “Azul are you with me”= “Blue are you with me” in Spanish, then it pans to the clip of blue -Beyonce really wanted to go to an HBCU as she mentioned but at that time she was doing DC, which is why she made the celebration of HBCU life present in her performance. - Solange is B’s younger sister, - In the song Flawless Bey says “Of course, sometimes shit go down When it's a billion dollars on an elevator” because of an argument Solange and Jay Z had on an elevator that there was recorded footage for. - Beyonce is known to be somewhat of a perfectionist, it's the Virgo in her tbh, she probably wanted to go back right after pregnancy because she felt like she had to and she was already a year behind. Also she doesnt keep much in the public eye as much as she used to she keeps a private life. - And her momma was a savage she got this shit from Tina (this lyric seemed to fit here haha) PS I definitely think this video is behind sync, it is more noticeable in the end Great great reaction!!

Antoinette

Done watching. A few things ! Solange is Beyoncé’s younger sister and an incredible singer and songwriter in her own right (the woman she danced with for Get Me Bodied). Solange was the first black woman to compose for NYC ballet just a few years ago. She wrote an album “A Seat At The Table” that has absolute bangers. You should listen/react to her song “Cranes in the Sky”. Beyonces songs specifically the one with the lyric “Becky with the good hair” was about Jay-Z’s cheating scandal which are all from the album Lemonade which highlights her trials and tribulations after his infidelity. Beyoncé and Jay-Z have three children together. Blue Ivy 11, and twins Rumi (girl) and Sir (boy) who are 6. Blue Ivy is a mini icon in her own right and was the youngest person to win a Grammy for her vocals on her mom’s song Brown Skin Girl from the album The Gift for Lion King. Blue also got to perform with her mom at the renaissance tour over the summer and definitely that tour is something you should check out. Overall I’m loving that you’re discovering Beyoncé. As a fan since 6 years old, and now 26 years old you’re absolutely correct the journey of seeing Beyoncé grow into her own while also growing into a woman myself has been incredible. I really hope you enjoy the journey you’re about to embark on with the reactions. I can tell you’re going to enjoy becoming a beyhive member!

Alana

Here’s some fun facts: Her daughter Blue Ivy who was 6 in this (she is now 11) performed with Beyoncé on her most recent tour!! The Les Twins have been dancing with her since around 2011. I always recognize them when they dance with her because it’s been so long. Solange who danced with Beyoncé on the Get Me Bodied dance break is her little sister! Jay Z’s real name is Sean Carter so Beyoncé’s last name is hyphenated (Beyoncé Knowles-Carter) Jay Z cheated on Beyoncé which inspired her Lemonade album. I believe she performed 5 of those songs for Coachella. There were so many black culture references throughout the entire performance that I loved. The band, the steppers, the dancers etc all were inspired by the black college experience, and she showcased a lot of HBCUs (historically, black college or university)

Erwin 𐚁

Dangerously in Love - 3 songs Bday - 4 songs I Am… Sasha Fierce - 2 songs 4 - 4 songs Beyoncé - 6 songs Lemonade - 5 songs Features - 3 songs Destiny’s Child - 3 songs Covers - 2 songs Singles - 1 song

Amber Harrison

Yes! Great breakdown. I would add that the voice overs were black cultural/intellectual icons like Nina Simone, Toni Morrison, Cornel West, and Maya Angelou. Also her performance of Lift Every Voice and Sing (Black National Anthem) was so powerful under the Coachella night sky!

Sabrina Louis

That was a great reaction! Thank you to whoever requested it. FYI, Solange (the woman who was dancing with her) is her little sister who is also a singer. And Carter is Jay-Z's last name. That's why in her show she said "Everybody say hey Miss Carter". I wouldn't consider myself fully part of the Beyhive but I do enjoy Beyonce's music and she's an amazing performer.

fry

audrey i love your energy so much

fry

the way i had to immediately go and listen to renaissance after watching this reaction caused i’m all hyped by beyoncé now 😭

Erwin 𐚁

This was such a great reaction. My friends and I had a blast. Jumping into Homecoming, I definitely see it could be jarring to hear what she put herself through but once you watch her work ethic throughout her career you can understand maybe why she thought this wouldn’t be has hard of a challenge. When Coachella announced Beyoncé would no longer perform in the 2017 set, they said she would headline 2018. She has a contract to fulfill and I think she thought giving herself a year would be plenty of time but the drastic change of her body from having twins was a lot. If you watch her “Life is But a Dream” doc you will see they she got back to the stage FOUR MOUTHS after having Blue, her first daughter. I’m so excited for you to see her journey. Her last album, Renaissance is a tribute to her Uncle Johnny and the Queer Community. You will definitely be moving!!!!

I Am Not Chamari

Something I love about Beyoncé’s live shows (I saw her Renaissance Tour live this year!) is her transitions and how much honor and reverence she gives to Black music from the past and present. The song you heard in the credits is a cover of Before I Let Go, which is just a quintessential black song, played at many a cookout and black community gatherings! A lot of the songs she uses in her transitions/performs with are also modern hip-hop/trap hits. And of course, she uses her own music. It’s always fun to listen to the band play a song that she definitely won’t be performing lol She just doesn’t have a good ear for this kind of stuff, but an interesting one. The way she puts it altogether is soooo fascinating and always keeps you on your toes. I have never stopped thinking about the transition from Hold Up into Countdown from this film.

Alana

Omg yes the Hold Up to Countdown transition is the best!

I need you get into your googling bag babe. it’s alot to know about our girl

Rafael Gunji

YOU DID THAT WITH THIS REACTION.. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU REACTING TO THE GIFT BY BEYONCE

JLeo Galarreta

I loved this. New subscriber here🔥🔥

adeepindigo

That was fun! Beyonce is such an entertainer. I feel like she gives so much thought to the production, the staging, the choreo, to enhance the theatrics of the experience and still somehow not let it upstage her vocals too much. LOL that you were like her backup vocals sound just like her - it's a backing track so she can dance :) Can't wait for you to react to Lemonade. It's going to blow your mind.

Anonymous

Pls, bring more Beyonce reaction, you must see Lemonade Visual Album/ React to Renaissance Album, its sooo good!

Anonymous

I had to go through the comments to make sure I didn’t repeat but! There’s a live album of the movie so you can definitely compare that to what she did in the studio version! Fact two: the Bug-A-Boos (male dancers before the baton thrower) all referenced two Beyoncé songs as their names and bug a boo itself is a reference to a destiny’s child song (bug a boo)

Please watch and stream Destiny’s Child Atlanta full concert. The full show is available on YouTube and it’s excellent

Anonymous

Please react to lemonade visual album ;)

Royal Yaya

I really hope you can react to Life is but a dream doc, Lemonade visual album, and The Gift visual!!

Lena Greene

I think Beyonce and Jay Z met before they made Crazy In Love

rapid-ren

Is no one going to tell her that it’s Maya Angelou when she was asking “who is that talking?”

JLeo Galarreta

Pelase bring more Beyoncé 🔥🔥❤️❤️

Jonah

Hi Audrey! Thank you so much for reacting to Homecoming!! Loved your thoughts at the end about Beyonce slowing down and enjoying her life/family. I think as much as I want my fave to rest, she just loves the stage and creating her art to ever leave us for too long LOL. Now that you've seen Homecoming, would you be interested to watch/react to the official trailer for her Renaissance film in theaters?

Angel Romero

I just joined when I discovered that Beyoncé content was being released 💕 Please react to Lemonade 🙏

Essence

The song she was singing around twelve minutes is called “Lift every voice and sing” which is considered the black National Anthem.

Amber Goodwin

Audrey is entering the Hive and I think we’ve created a new 🐝 😂 Audrey girl you got so much to catch up on. 😂 I almost want you to just do Beyoncé in order starting from her first solo album. So you can catch the references nd we can explain stuff in chronological order in small doses. 😂

Amber Goodwin

FYI Around the 1 hour 40 mark… HBCU= Historically Black College/University …. that’s the homecoming being referenced in the documentary footage and part of what’s being paid homage to w/ the show… HBCU homecoming is very much like this performance- just Black culture love, respect, homage, and PRIDE

Anonymous

I loved this reaction! I hope you react to lemonade the visual album next. A lot of the songs heard at Beychella are from that album. The lemonade album is her being very raw about her husbands infidelity. From her finding out to them working through it. Also her visual album for the lion king soundtrack on Disney plus is amazing.

Dominique

Can't wait to see the while Beyonce journey

leslie martin

she's just the best. she's such a professional and hardworker. she deserves everything she has, she's just insanely talented, and the best performer of our time. i don't think she should even be considered in the same lame as other artists. she's everything and more lol i love her so much. she's a perfectionist, you can see how "normal artists" would just care about the scenery and choreo of the show but HER?? she's down with selecting every band member, dancer, she's all up with the choreo, the building of the stage, costumes, and even with all the vocal effects she uses throughout the show. we all know she can sing, perfectly. but she uses those effects at some interesting points in her show and it makes the final project even more special bc she's just PERFORMING. she's performing from start to finish and you can see how much work she puts into it. been following her for so long, and i can't stop being proud of her. she's mother. she's the queen. she's the best artist ever 🐝 🐝
