In case you're wondering how close anime adaptation is to the manga - it is extremely close depiction. Exclusive to manga are cover stories for secondary characters - imagine getting a title card of anime episode but instead of a black screen you get a 5-10 second clip of some character, like Enel or Wapol. After 10-20 of these, you get a sort of story each of these make up (for example what Wapol did after he got defeated), giving us a sort of look who is doing what, while we have our main arc focused on straw hats. Manga also gets a question corner, where Oda answer various questions, which can lead to new information about how the world operates, character bios and so forth. Other than that, anime is pretty much 1:1, minus padding - prolongated stare downs, reaction faces of citizens, panting of characters, snail-phones ringing for long periods, just plain standing around for up to 40 seconds sometimes - obviously to fill 20min episode timeslot, while also not covering more than a chapter of the manga, in order not to catch up. Thus in the anime, it often times appears like characters are not doing what they're supposed to - not chasing someone down, or not acting immediately,- that is a byproduct of stretching each scene out, sometimes bad directing, but not the problem of the Oda's writing. Id say manga and anime are 97% the same (if you exclude padding, or filler arcs, which you guys skip anyways). They sometimes add great filler scenes with more funny character moments, or prolong some fights with filler exchanges of attacks, which I believe is a great addition (many anime do this, not only one piece). This Live Action version is vastly different by comparison. But that's understandable. They only had 8 episodes to fit a lot of material, as they ran out of budget (initial plans were to do 10 episodes).

Someone pointed out that Zoro and Luffy split up at the lobby, and after walking through the halls, Zoro ends up at the same lobby to fight the butlers

I agree with this for the most part, except for the part about filler existing "in order not to catch up" that might be partially true. but the main reason they add padding is because they come out with episodes every week and have been for 25 years, sometimes they have to buy themselves time to make the animation happen, especially for high budget scenes, outright skipping some weeks to take extra time to make an episode.

Yeah they've been showcasing his inability for direction lol like when Luffy asks Zoro how he knew where to find him after Zoro got out of the well, and Zoro says "I didn't, I thought I was heading back to the house". Classic Zoro 😂

Damn. Seeing Merry get bodied like that makes me think the Will of P ain't helping nobody this time around. Welp, the story must go on. RIP :)
