The casting for and acting by Buggy and Higuma is 💯 Yeah, the Shanks losing his arm scene definitely hits different, the passing off of the hat scene too in my opinion, didn't have me emotional the way the anime always gets me Ngl, with the way things played out, there was a moment where I was like "are they not gonna have him lose an arm??" lmao especially since people say Shanks losing his arm was originally an editor's idea, not Oda's

Tbf Shanks wasn't an Emporer at the time when he saved kid Luffy and lost his arm (he was still strong though and had his haki). I do like the way the manga/anime did it with them in the water better than in the live action, but they probably found it easier to edit with them in the boat instead. There are a lot of changes in order to condense everything into fewer episodes (8 instead of 61 lol) so it makes sense things would be different. I think they've done it in a way that fits though, the storyline so far is quite good.
