Whats good fam! Just wanted to touch base with everybody.  My allergies were horrible around 6pm yesterday, and me and Hus weren't able to record our reactions because I was looking like a stone cold dope fiend.  But we'll knock out the HXH and FMA reactions tonight, and I'll have all four uploaded tomorrow.  Sorry for the delay, but I didn't want to give y'all a busted reaction, especially on the Chimera Ant Savagery.

SO true hahaha I hate it when people want FMAB reactions it’s an overrated anime still good tho...once you watch HXH it’s all downhill

I guess the reason is FMB is more popular than hxh is because the dub version is more famous than the subbed but most popular doesn't mean the best. Hxh is by far the best anime voice acting and animation was the best one in its time.

I used to think FMAB was one of the greatest animes I had ever seen but after watching HxH FMAB lost some of its appeal. There is something about Togashi’s world creation that makes me incredibly curious as a viewer/reader (I’m caught up with the manga) and I feel like I HAVE to know more, and then you have extremely diverse characters where even those that embody a certain archetype feel like they are just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much potential backstory and complexity to so many characters that it feels like when they are in the story you are only getting a small part of their story, and these characters change over time and feel pretty real. The hxh story feels like an amalgamation of diverse and self-interested people’s (and magical beasts’) storylines that interfere with each other only insomuch as their interests clash with one another. There are so many times where it feels like Togashi teases the existence of another untold story by quickly glossing over it such as Chrollo and Silva’s previous meeting, Gon’s mom, Gyro’s whereabouts (already hinted), the Spider’s backstory, more of Hisoka’s past, all of Ging’s accomplishments, the Dark continent, or even kurapika’s story when he was out of the spotlight, and there are many more examples. I could go on but this is a definite difference with hxh and FMAB which doesn’t mean one is greater than the other, but is a choice by the author because the stories have completely different aims. FMAB’s story has more of a conclusion and the main plot’s content is understood to be more of an oddity in an otherwise similar world to our own. Therefore the story is special, but it is also an exception in a world that “seems” to be less interesting (in my opinion) by comparison. There is no “story” after the story if this makes sense. I also believe FMAB deals more in absolutes, whereas HxH has more nuance, subtlety and gray in how it deals with its characters. But again, these are different priorities of the authors, they were conscious in their decisions to create a story that unfolds a certain way. One is meant to have a more or less definitive ending, the other is a never ending story where we only get glimpses of its agents. One is more condemning of its characters, the other sees them as actors with very diverse ends. And as we know... only the Sith deal in absolutes :)
