I made a comment either here or on youtube how HxH starts out pretty tame, but slowly gets darker over time. This arc is when it gets extra dark. There is still more and it is still worse

They mentioned that a special human like arrow dude is worth 1000 normal humans. Nen users are the new caviar for the queen man. Also, you guys are starting to pick up on it already, but this arc does an amazing job of setting up an atmosphere to guide the story. That feeling of dread that slowly creeps into focus... It's a very interesting way to propel the plot forward. Great stuff guys!

'Spoilers'? In the manga it says that Gyro was reborn as a Chimera Ant, who adamantly rejected the Queen's will. So he's still out there somewhere.

Gyro will be the only ant that immediatly after getting born remembers who he is and leaves the place to start a new life. But that is not shown in the anime.
