I rendered the previous Cadance ass tease loop into a VR video for the people who own VR headsets. It's in 4320 x 2160 (4K) resolution with 60fps.

Thanks to everyone in the Discord server that helped me test out the VR camera settings. I will be doing VR renders for a few select animations that work good for VR in the future (whenever I got some spare time for bonus renders).

4K VR video and 2K VR video (less lag on weaker devices): https://www.patreon.com/posts/60369262

You need a 180-degree VR video player to watch the video with your VR headset, regular video players like VLC will not work.
May need some experimentation to get it to play right with your specific headset + VR video player. A couple of VR video players are: DeoVR, Skybox, Pigasus, and Whirligig.

Thank you for this, it's amazing.

It may be a bit demanding for people with older GPUs to run high resolution VR videos. Try the Derpibooru low res version to see if that one works, also check if there is any compatibility/alternative mode in your VR video player.

Huh. I really don't have the hardware to make this work properly, but it's a strange experience to see it in 3D. (Even if my phone overheats after a few wiggles.) [edit:] Turns out I wasn't using a VR player. Gizmo VR worked for me, as I was watching on android. Though Clopician gave me permission to upload the experiment to the feedback section. (And hasn't asked me to take it down. ^.^ ) So you can have a look at what a 2D video player compatible version looks like if you want Though I think the framing needs a little work. (Sorry.) For all sort of optical reasons, moving things in the Z axis (towards/away from the viewer) looks worse than moving or rotating them in the X or Y axis. And the tail is moving a *lot* in the Z axis.

If you’re watching on weaker hardware it will need lower video resolution to handle it. I updated the post to include a 2K version, let me know if that is less demanding of your phone to play. What headset are you using to view this? Any recommendation what I could do about the framing?

Watching on my mobile phone using a plastic verion of google cardboard. Also watcched it on my monitor using the corss eyed trick, but that made everything tiny. Mostly... Crop the tail out? (Z movement bad, etc.) Beyond that it's been a while since I read the theory. I do have some video editing software at home. Would you be okay if I played around wth the video? Obviously your veto before anything got shared or uploaded.

clopician

You can play around with the video however you want, but don't upload anything. Cropping isn't a legitimate way of doing it, I have to re-render. If you know what I should avoid for future VR renders tell me how and why I should avoid something in detail. Let me know if the new 2K version is less demanding for your phone to play. Join the Discord server if you want to continue discussing this, it's much easier to talk about feedback there.

4K VR file has been updated, it should run smoothly now with no lag.
