Early Access - Chapter Twenty Four (Patreon)

Hey,

How's it going?  Here's a bloody early thing for you to watch... early.

I ended up getting Marvel's Avengers.  lol.  Only took a week before I was like... "Oh sod it".

You know what?  I don't hate it.  Campaign is pretty solid.  Some of the characters are more fun to play than others.  And even the 'endgame' (ha puns) stuff that's more in line with the Live Service model is alright.  I mean... if you like games like Destiny and The Division then you'll like Avengers.

There's a bit of a weird design choice though.  The missions and enemies scale with you.  Right up to the current gear level cap of 150.  Which kinda negates the loot system.  I don't know why they did that.  There are passive skills that you can unlock to make the game feel a bit easier but... I did find myself (about halfway through) feeling like, by leveling and gearing up, I was actually making the game harder for myself.

Which kinda sucks because I have full blown videogame OCDs where... If i see side missions... I feel compelled to do them before continuing the main story.  To the extent that i've been stuck in an infinite loop in Bethesda games because I didn't realise the side quest I was doing was repeatable.  And don't get me started on The Witcher 3's question marks across the entire world map.  I dunno if they were procedurally generated but they sure as hell felt like they f*ckin' were!  

I actually kinda have a bit of a breakdown when I pick up a sidequest that i'm not going to be a high enough level to do for another 100 hours of gameplay.  That upsets me.  A lot.
