For me the deciding factor is Benn Beckman because he has a reputation almost as notorious as Shanks and he had Kizaru shook at Marineford, Aokiji is basically the second strongest in BB's crew but narrative wise Beckman might be above him

Blackbeard really isn't that big of a problem. Big Mom took on both Law and Kid without using haki, which was Oda's way of nerfing the hell out of her since both Law and Kidd are devil fruit users with little to no Haki, let alone Conqueror's Haki. Blackbeard is the second weakest Yonko, head of Buggy.

Black Beard has always been a problem. I would say he is stronger than Luffy but still somewhere around the same ball park of strength. But both of them are not quite on the same level as Kaido, Big Mom, or Shanks yet. But what makes them interesting, or more specifically Black Beard, is he continues to level up. And eventually he will be superior to Kaido, Big Mom, and Shanks.

While not exactly canon, it's pretty insane seeing Van Auger one shoting Cracker's biscuit soldiers with his bullets. Especially when you consider luffy was not able damage them until he went Gear 4. Yeah I agree. One thing that I prefer about pre-time skip gura gura was the way they animated the cracking effect in the air. The cracks were closer to a translucent color, giving the visual effect of space being fractured like a mirror. Whereas now, the crack effects are a very bright and colorful blue, making it look more like lightning, rather than shattering reality like in Marineford.
