The last episode of Last of Us introduces us to the characters Bill and Frank. The story shares similarities to the canon story within the game, main difference being that Bill stays alive within the game's plot line. Would you have preferred that Bill stays alive or stick with the show's interpretation of the game? Sound off your thoughts below.

The show did a great job imo. I Liked the games direction as well and Bill was basically the same person( survivalist who just wanted to be alone and hated the world)

Jawdane

The show's going great , the more they diverge from the game narratively the better, as long it stays true to the vision and character direction. It becomes INSANELY boring just watching the show be 1:1 with the game.

Like I said, not every change is a good change, they definitely should have kept the game's story

KJiggidy

Shut up. Not everything has to be followed by the game story. What’s the point? We already know how their stories end, why not change and try something new? Lol like Rob used to say or does: out with the old and in with the new. Try something new for a change and get over it. It’s not that big of a deal.

sw

Whats the point? Just so Ellie can call him an "old fucker"? He's never seen again in the game once Joel and Ellie leave with the truck. Show Bill lives a pretty great life and is as close as you get to a happy ending in this series.

Sonicluis

I’m afraid it’s all down hill from here.

Femto

I voted for the show’s ending due to it having done a lot for expanding his character while keeping a lot of elements true to the source material personality wise. But I won’t deny a part of me still wishes we had that present time meet up and that they were around for a couple of episodes. But the closure was unique to occur in an apocalypse.

So you don't get what an opinion is ? I thought this was a bad change, the poll asks for our opinion, and, as I said, not every change is good. This one was a bad change, so no, you don't NEED to do something new.

Philbo

i agree, i understand there will be changes but, you dont NEED to change everything just for shock value. i hated this change and i also hated the tess's death change. both were completely unnecessary but people are gonna get super fucking defensive because they were gay (also something that didnt needed to be expanded but, thats irrelevant)

Ivan

bro the games versions of events are good for a game not for a show. i think what they did was alot better for the story. def not completely unnecessary, yall just hating at this point

Max

It was a welcome change and a beautifully crafted story. This one could win them some awards!

Monkey D. Lucci

I'm simply happy there was so much gay sex

Thank you lol somebody who has a brain. This is what happens when entitled ass people expect so such and complain when they don’t get what they want. This is what’s wrong with the world. Just shut up and try something new. In the game, I didn’t like Bill. He was just a means to an end and Frank’s death as just out of nowhere, even though they pretty much implied that him and Frank were together, we just didn’t see it. But here in the live action show, they changed it the right way. They gave both characters better story and depth all the way until the end. People upset or have a different “dumbass opinion” are just crying and complaining because they didn’t get the interactions between Bill and Ellie and start arguing with each other back and forth like they did in the game, comedically. That and them being together. People cry so goddamn much like shut up or don’t watch the show. Move on.

Philbo

lol might as well just address you both. @ivan i would love for you to explain why the game version was only good for the game and not the show? like honestly im curious for your reasoning. the one change i understand but just not a fan of is them taking out the spores. thats just me being nitpicky i get why that was a change. other than that please elaborate since you say we are just "hating". @KJiggidy alright now for this "dumbass" comment, i think you may be confused on what a brain is. what makes us entitled? because we made an opinion about a show that's adapting from a game that's been released 3 TIMES with 0 changes to story for each? or is it because we just don't have the same "dumbass" opinion as you? "I didn't like bill in the game" you saying that makes your whole comment completely irrelevant because you are being completely biased lol "i hated thee way the game did it, whoever likes the game version more are whiny bitches and should just drop the show" what you pretty much said. no one is crying here bruv besides you i guess. i want you to live by your own words. whenever a show, a game, a movie adapt something you are a fan of and you dislike something just don't say a word. don't comment under anyone. don't bother having any opinion. just suck it up and either keep watching or stop watching it all together.

KJiggidy

Just so we’re clear I’m not about to read all that lol I made my point and kept it condensed I suggest you do the same. This is an example of entitled ass people like you who will say what they mean just to argue and debate. Clearly I struck a nerve or something. At the end of the day, either watch the show or don’t tone in. They are going to change event Arby’s occurred in the game whether you and others like you like it or not lol so…. Move on.

Nem Kos

@KJiggidy you do realise you're asking people not to tell their opinions on a post that is literally asking for... our opinions. Like how retarded are you

Panda

I think you were watching the wrong last of us my guy lol,

Lexi Browning

Both stories are good and work for the medium. I wouldn't change the show or the game. That said, the game in general is a bit better to me. It feels more realistic, though that's probably because perfect endings just don't seem plausible in my eyes. But I don't think a lot of game's dynamics would work well as an hour long show. Our moment with Bill in the game can honestly be summed up into a little less than 20 minute segment in the show because the game relies heavily on our own experience of controlling Joel and Ellie through every moment. The show can't capture that, or at least prolong those moments enough to stretch an hour

Ivan

@philbo So... i said you were hating cause you said the changes were completely unnecessary, which they werent. first the spores, i dont really care about this one really, it would be annoying in the show to listen to people with gas masks on. second tess dying, bro she literally got bodied by fedra after killing two of them, that shit would be wack to watch. the explosion killing all those infected and helping joel and ellie is alot better imo. Third, bill and frank. you say it didnt need to be expanded upon, sure but like @kjiggidy said bill was litterally just a one off character that helped them with the car. then you find frank after he killed himself and find out about him and bill through that note he left. not that much impact imo, also most interactions with Bill are through gameplay which wouldnt translate well to a show format. but with the show you see bill and frank live their lives, meet joel and tess, and you get to see thier chracters get fleshed out more than the game. then the letter bill leaves behind for joel connects the two characters in finding meaning in this F'd up world. you're entitled to your opinion but i think the changes they made were great.

Damn I didn't expect this response from the majority of you I'm really glad

KJiggidy

Just because you have an opinion, doesn’t mean it’s the right one. Or one that makes sense…. In your case, it doesn’t make sense.

KJiggidy

Bro the way they changed it in the show was the best way to go about it. People upset are the hardcore “I want the show to be EXACTLY! As the game was” fans who literally don’t like the way the show is changing certain situations, like character deaths. Wait until we get to Sam and Henry. If they change their deaths, folks will complain and cry about that too, and try to use the “well it’s my opinion that they shouldn’t have done that” card. Like it doesn’t matter what your opinion is, because at the end of the day, the writers of the show don’t give a fuck about your opinions. Feelings won’t change anything. If the writers truly did care about their feelings, the ones with negative opinions would’ve got exactly what they wanted. That shit is so annoying like those type of people feel so entitled to have shit the way they want. That’s not how life works. Either try something new or don’t even bother. Not liking it won’t change anything. Honestly bro there’s no point in arguing. They’ll have to get over it one way or another. It’s either that or “complain watch”.
