Jerry is only thinking about the Strawhats, who are relatively “good” pirates. The rest of the overall pirate world involves mass murder, slavery, racism, robbery, kidnapping, taking hostages, hoarding medicine from sick people, inciting wars and coups, and more. Pirates have a bad rep for a reason and you gotta be able to see beyond the loveable main characters. EDIT: This was in response to Jerry saying Sabo wanting to be a pirate is like wanting to do music lol. Watching more of the post-discussion it seems he actually gets that it’s not all black and white.

yeah, its usually a good reminder for how messed up East Blue Pirates were and they were from the weakest seas. Captain Kuro trying to murder whole town, Alvida robbing and murdering people from random ships casually. Don Krieg sneak attacking cities and towns dressed as navy and had poisonous weapons. Thats not even touching Arlong and all the shit he tried.

If the Navy is covering up slavery for the celestial dragons how are they not running things? Luffy stoll off on one and a Admiral pull up in less the 15 min. Roger found the One Piece and Rayleigh said to find the One Piece you also will find out the truth of the world. Its safe to believe that the world gov. / celestial dragons dont want anything that remaineds them of Roger to walk the earth.

The Navy is indeed corrupt, but you need to understand that they are not bad guys, there are the antagonist in the story because we view it from a Pirate's perspective, Pirates are horrible people, who commit all kinds of crimes, of course there's exceptions, but exceptions don't define a rule.

Yeah he just misremembered that scene cause Ace did mention Sabo when he was dying but it wasn't in the context of saying hi to him, he told Luffy to say hi to Dadan only. These guys don't understand how badly they spoiled themselves from Jump Force cause they're assuming stuff based on seeing grown up Sabo.

In the World Government/Celestial Dragon discussion, the guys are missing one level of management. Between the Celestial Dragons and the Marines are the 5 Elders. Those guys keep a close eye on the Marines and know the basically execute the will of the Celestial Dragons. They almost certainly would want Garp eliminated if he spoke out against the execution. These are the same guys that ordered Ohara, Robin's home, to be removed from the face of the planet with the authority of the Buster Call. Sengoku would have no choice but to follow orders from them or be removed from power.

Loved this discussion in regards to what is right and wrong. This one of the many reasons why I love One Piece, as its not always black in white in terms of who is good and who is evil. The show is almost real depiction of todays world in how they go about their beliefs and ideals. Can't wait for the next few episodes. I hope they do a 3 episode of 503 - 505 next week.
