Gowthers powers aren’t unstable, he controls them perfectly actually but like it’s been shown he’s not human so whatever he is doesn’t allow him to feel emotions so he just runs ramped with his power whenever he chooses. Merlins pills are basically just power and mental suppressors.

Spirited Away is amazing. I personally prefer Princess Mononoke over it, but they are both incredible. Ghibli has got that secret sauce man!
