The above pose was meant for one of the pages of the comic, but I wound up wildly colouring it this morning because I can't draw that much today. I might make an actual series of designer-esque ads with actual poses just because.

Anyway, have some more roughs and doodles and I'll be doing my best to get them inked soon!

Laughing Judy!

Calvin Swine is a clever pun lol And I'm really excited to see more of the comic!

Colonel Arbuckle

XDDD Calvin Swine, I love it!! Awesome progress, Qal!

Tireachan

Calvin Swine is genius xD Hope there will be more in the future

InTheLionsDen

That ad sheet looks marvelous. The buildup to Judy's laugh is coming along great. Nick is losing his hustle when he applies it to his bunny.

Nick becomes an endorser 🙃

You know I really have to thank you for your Zootopia art. Right now a certain artist is doing more comics that just do such an injustice to Nick and Judy's character, and it's nice to go to an artist who not only writes, but draws them WAY better than he ever could :) P.S. I agree with InTheLionsDen, Judy's laugh buildup is so charming.

I admit, I can't take credit for that - Disney already came up with that one XD And thank you, Kumiho!

qalcove

Thank Disney for that pun XD Definitely more in the future coming!

She's wise to his ways by this point lol. Thank you always, Lion!

Agreed. Qal’s better than that artist could ever hope to be, and she only gets even better as time passes.

I'm willing to bet on who that "artist" is and the character assassination that they've done in several comics. But agreed, the laugh is cu-charming. XD Always love Qal for the expressive art style.

I understand that people don't like what they've done with the character (or more personally, don't like the "red-button" nature of the topic discussed in the comics), but in the past 3 years I've seen these two characters in wildly different situations that they'd "never" be in, or characterized in a non-canon way. In the end, we're all just taking these characters and making them our own and I'm guilty of that too - Nick and Judy would never be feral animals and they'd never be in a talk show series answering questions from folks online. IDK the artist, or what drama occurred if I'm missing more of the convo, but all I know is that I don't want any bad attention right when we finally are about to get some content!

Qal, the way you use Nick and Judy in your stories and works are incredible. You're using established characters in ways and scenarios that fit their personalities and dynamics, AU or continuations. Besides this, I've never seen you do such works as ways to get quick attention or cause controversy in the community. You've been an inspiration, a steadily growing artist who treats people like their own friends if not family.

I second Dancing Lunar Wolves statement on how you use Nick and Judy. You're definitely nothing like the artist I'm referring to in terms of personality, both in your work and personality to fans. Both you and this artist have every right to do it anything you see fit in terms of creative vision and art, but when you do something that's outside of the norm for these two, there's a sense that you draw it for fun/creative reasons, and not just to get a rise out of people. Oh, and it's charming. Your art/stories are very, very charming :)
